An amazingly sucessful "collaborative Net project" that is surprisingly accurate most of the time.

Enjoy it while it lasts (in it's current form)....it will soon be bombed out by ads or will be a muti-tier pay-site.

We don't allow the kids at school to use it as a source on research papers, tho. Not reliable enough.

I always make sure that for anything found on the Wiki page, there must be a footnote, and the source material in the footnote has to be checked out and verified.

But otherwise, yeah.

This.

It's a good starting point as long as you cite the information linked in the footnotes and not the wiki article itself.

A college I've once attended don't allow wikipedia or google, when doing research papers. They provided educational sources for internet references, and/or you would have to go to a library.

It's actually cool when you go to certain pages. I loved the Beatles' Wikipedia pages for example.

I don't know what they're trying to prove by donations. I think it'll get pop-up ads one day lol

I think it's a great public service and most pages do source their info. I'd send 'em a few bucks if things weren't tight right now.

Not if you get Web of Trust, it'll tell you which porn to go to and which to avoid. I've found some have that red warning sign like "this is a dangerous site".
