Pulp Fiction I saw this movie last night FOR THE FIRST TIME at a midnight screening. The crowds in the midnight screenings at this old theater downtown are notorious for being a bit riled up, so I didn't catch some of what was going on due to screaming, cheering, etc. Plus everyone was more than a little tipsy I really dug the film! I guess it helps that I love John Travolta, and he was wearing a UCSC shirt ( )
Thoughts on the movie, anyone? Is it shameful that it took me almost 10 years to see it? Did anyone else LOVE the twist contest scene? Of course I always love it when John Travolta shakes his thang. He's still got it! And was it just me or was the scene where Mia was slumped over after taking the hit of heroin, half-dead, very reminiscent of Marion Crane dead in the bathtub from Psycho? I mean, like, where is the sun?

It was so embarrassing last night... an employee got up to announce the movie, as always, and then said "Can somebody come up here and do Jules's monologue??" You know, Ezekiel 25:17. Anyhow some stupid girl with a mohawk got up and did the "dont be a square daddy-o (outlines a square and it appears)" thing you mentioned and was booed off of the stage. Dumbass got Mia and Julies mixed up!

Oh brother...you must live in L.A. area? If so where are they having this midnight showings of PF? is it every weekend? No, I live in Nor Cal, Santa Cruz! They do midnight showings of cool films every weekend at the Del Mar, that oldass theater I was talking about earlier that plays independent films, for the most part ( www.thenick.com ) So far I've been to midnight movies of Pulp Fiction, Heathers, and The Goonies (with Corey! ) Next weekend they're doing Donnie Darko. The guy rattled off a bunch of other movies and the only other one I could remember that's coming up is Office Space.I mean, like, where is the sun?

I should go to the midnight movies a lot more - they are SO much fun, the employees don't give a shit what the audience does so you can do whatever the hell you want. I think the Lost Boys was centered in Santa Cruz - for sure I know that there's a scene of the Boardwalk in the movie. And yes, that's why I love Corey. He's great Santa Cruz is a pretty cool town. There's a huge mix of people - you've got the interesting folks like Berkeley, but there's also a mix of rich yuppies, college kids, hippies, punks (there's a big ol' punk club downtown called The Catalyst), and surfers. A huge percentage of the UCSC students are from So Cal. I dig it here. I mean, like, where is the sun?
