It depends on how prudish the mom is, I know some moms that would adore this idea, and some moms that would be horrified, but no inbetweens. Its either a love it or hate it thing.

actually... some Latino moms would dig this baby doll too. nod

the "nipple" looks nothing like a nipple though, it's just a little sensor that makes the doll do the sucking sounds!

I don't get the fuss of this at all or how it could be "misused" confuse

I know girls that would misue that... because they know too much. With a more wholesome setting and innocent child it can be a lovely toy.

Unfortunately, breastfeeding is not such an honored tradition here... people are different and it depends on region. Some would be fine, some parents would be absolutely horrified. I know since I had bad experiences trying to breast feed my own children here. People don't care for breastfeeding moms, and some can be quite rude about it. So in that atmosphere, guess how this doll would be received. I know it would cause you to shake your head at disbelief, but that's the way it is with some people. shrug

Oh thank god... I'm over it now... I was afraid there'd be some heinous rubber nipple for kids to flick and pinch... neutral

falloff

I think the company learned its lesson from a previous baby doll that got an erection and peed a rainbow in a diaper change.

I can't find that toy... it was considered unpopular here though. This baby may do well in certain regions.

god no lol

the controversy seems that "experts" (read religious folks) reckon a girls maternal instinct will kick in early and they will become teenage mothers. What a load of rubbish!!!

If this was a real concern, there would be some correlation between big sisters who have seen their mummy nursing, and held a doll to their bosom, and teen pregnancy.

the little apron thingie also looks like a nursing bra? confuse now there is a stretch of the imagination!

I'd be more concerned about the sale of thongs (g-strings) for 8 year olds. Now THERE is something wrong confused

that probably caused more emotional trauma than having a doll and god forbid, maybe humping it now and then, in private lurking

I haven't thought about my dolly in years! His name was Tobias, and his eyelashes fell off and his hair was a single matted mass falloff

so cruel! bawl

didn't you wonder why that doll was "filthy"? confused didn't your mum even think you girls might start to be curious about what was filthy and forbidden and WHY?

My mum, ever so liberated, didn't even bat an eyelid at drawings I made of people having sex - I was 8 years old! eek Thanks to her not commenting on her little freak, or ever making me feel bad about myself of my early awareness of sexuality, I behaved myself until I was 18. I'm sure if she lectured me, or watched me like a hawk, or punished me, I would have rebelled.

My mom was the opposite, a total prude and whorish too... she was a go-go dancing fool. She was so pretty but would say the worse things to us. She was raised in foster homes and never raised by people who loved her, so I chalk it up to that.

Me and my sister eventually found our own way in life, but not before becoming teen mothers. disbelief
