I agree, it's a bar for Christ's sake, if you can't deal with smoke keep your ass at home.

Bars have been smoke free around these parts for years now and it's awesome. If you can't go a couple of hours without a smoke, keep your ass at your gross smoke smelling/covered home.

But no one really complains about almost everywhere being non-smoking...even the smokers.

maybe because after all this time they have been brainwashed into thinking it's ok , it's not

the majority of the people that go out want to smoke !

here they do mind and everyone's standing outside smoking

why can't you just let people enjoy their fag ?

an alcoholic beverage needs to be accompanied by a fag nod

when we had non smoking bars here before the smoking ban they were always empty

now what does that tell you ?

it should tell you that the majority of the people that go out want to smoke

why won't you just go to a non smoking bar instead ?

that would be a win win

and fyi

it's better to smell a little smoke than to having to endure people's disgusting body odor stench ;

i was at a Prince concert 2 weeks ago and the stench secreted by some was unbearable feeling ill

i'd rather smell smoke than that

i personally only smoke when i drink

and i only ever drink when i go out , it's a socializing thing for me

why would you wanna take that away from me ?

it's just not faya lol

I agree that you should be able to smoke in a bar. The good majority of them here, you can still smoke in but the ones that you can't I'll betcha have lost business.

I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

cool

yes they have lost business here too

they have made exceptions for the smoking ban again here

(the new government has)

if a bar has no staff other than the owner he/she can decide for himself whether he allows smoking or not

(the reasoning behind the smoking ban in the first place was that staff shouldn't have to endure 'second hand' smoke)

Clearly it's not an issue at all. And people are not brainwashed, they just realize that it's really not a big deal. And no, smoking and drinking do not go hand and hand. You can smoke outside here but can't drink outside and no one complains about that either.

Also, no bar has reported loss of business...they all said it would happen...but it hasn't.

Almost everywhere is non-smoking here and it's awesome!

I'm a regular party guy. I DJ at a place called Muziek Cafe and when I have the night off I tend to go out all night and end up at some afterparty til somewhere deep in the morning. With lots of lovley folks around. It just seems that when I start to party I just can't quit. And ofcourse the going out is coupled with lots of beer and shots.

The last few years have been an almost non stop party...

how about you?

don't drink at all anymore. used to nod but, not now. still love to partay though ;thumbsup:

I'm not a smoker or should I say I quite smoking 18 years ago.

These are bars and bar owners should have a choice whether they chose to be smoke free, have smoking / non-smoking areas or none at all. Last time I checked, it's not illegal to smoke cigarettes. If someone elses gross or unhealthy habit is such a big issue, remove tobacco from the shelves, problem solved. It seems to me the goverment and some people want it both ways. I don't take issue at all of having smoke free areas but it shouldn't be mandatory in bars.

Mach

Yes I go out a lot ~ if averaging 3 times a week is " a lot " lol

and No I do not drink a lot nor do I enjoy spending a lot of time around drunk people

I sometimes enjoy a light buzz with friends but crossing the line to "drunk" / wasted ~ not so much

Yeah, that asswipe smoking ban! Can't I just die painfully in peace, without the fucking government interfering? mad At least let me get to the point where I can get one of those funky, electronic voiceboxes or some fly nose-tubes!

^

the anti smoking nazi's didn't go to non smoking cafe's or clubs before the smoking ban , they were empty

so where are those people now ?

nowhere !

nowadays all the cafe's and clubs lose tons of income because people no longer want to go there

because the majority of the people that like to go out , smoke !

so that should tell you no one wants that stupid smoking ban apart from a few anti smoking nazi's

that feel the need to spoil other people's fun

and don't give me that 2nd hand smoke bs

it's a lie sponsored by the anti smoking lobby lol

[Edited 12/2/10 7:48am]

Do you really feel that you're somehow immune to the potential effects of continuing to smoke? confused Will you still feel that people were trying to "spoil (your) fun" if you end up with an electronic voicebox, nose tubes or worse? sad
