My goodness girls some people would love to apart of your family, they could blow all their Christmas money on themselves.
Seriously, ask him what he wants, ask your hubby to suggest at least 3 things he'd like for Christmas.

3 boxes of dumsticks, for work |

right, because YOU would appreciate a romantic gift, so his was a great one. He doesn't necessarily need a romantic one, but it is romantic to get a gift you really want even if it's drumsticks.
But it's really hard, who knows what to buy grown men? They usually have everything they really want and everything else is too expensive or involves infidelity of some sort
I dunno, the easiest thing for me would be to just give him the sticks and be done with it. It feels like not enough of an effort. Like he is not special to me.
well stick are not that exciting.
Someone suggested spa time and someone said hookers and someone said sex. How about a compromise of all three? A spa/massage. Maybe combine a weekend resort with it. That way he can indulge a bit but you still get a romantic weekend out of it. |

in Andy's opinion. Not that he is a woman, in general. But it IS interesting for me to learn that men (assuming Andy is representing a general concensus) believe romance only benefits the lady
So spending quality time with your girl, away from kids and work distractions, with the promise of a night of ahead wouldn't be appreciated by a man? Or is it actually your worst nightmare?

Wait a sec, no one is saying that a man can't or doesn't appreciate being with their partner.
But we are talking about a gift, and what a man might really want. It is ok to be selfish now and then.
The way I see it, he's out working hard, providing for his family, he's loving you and his kids every day. I'd rather just give a gift that is something just for him. I feel no need to make it about me in any way...and that's what a romantic gift does.
Maybe it's that women need to be reassured that they are loved and appreciated....and men don't. They already know that...they don't need to be reminded.
Generally speaking of course.

which is the difficult thing, being the person that he is, he doesn't LIKE anything!
If I was married to my brother in law, it would be so easy! Tickets to race cars, a bottle of scotch, a few nice sweaters, iTunes voucher, sporting equipment etc. EASY.

does it really, really have to be something to be wrapped?
coz I was thinking maybe something to do with his band? (a website, or a pimped up one in case they already got one etc..)
or maybe any silly thing you've randomly noticed he enjoys but just probably doesn't really talk much about?
I mean I know when my guy got me a cardigan for my birthday I nearly screwed his brains off right on that restaurant table. he noticed! "what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?" |

did he get massage? That's the main part of what I am suggesting, with the resort thrown in for the romance part. But the massage is just for him, right? Maybe a nice looking female to perform it so he can enjoy it (assuming he has the appropriate boundaries, of course) |

I made him 3 awesome websites and they are so nice, other people want me to do theirs also
Tomorrow night I am taking photos of the band for their website.
It's kind of my job though, I'm partners in his business and I look after the visual marketing of the bands.
This is what he seems to like:
texting
talking on the phone
watching TV
sleeping on the couch
can't think of anything else

she got them she just knows it's a lame gift But I agree, it's the little things that matter.
My brother has no say in how his home is decorated but he decided he wanted a little more color, so for his birthday he asked his wife for some bright and colorful placemats. As he opend the present, she said "I know this is not what you asked for, but..." and he has held it against her for a long time.
