I think he would too, but it's so hard after 16 years together to think of something he would really like sigh he's so different from most guys, totally unmaterialistic, überly pragmatic, doesn't collect anything, doesn't like music or fashion, or cars or sport

I make him a nice dinner every night! razz

So I looked at the dinner and movie packages, and for both of us to go, it's $136

which is CRAZY disbelief

I could make him a nice steak, get a DVD for $2.95 and give him a BJ during the movie even if he wants. Save his hard earned money

confused

I'd think because he's making music with his band all the time is precisely the reason why he's not into other artists' music.

Honestly -- and this may come off wrong -- I think an evening or two of peace, quiet and my wife and kid's absence would be AWESOME. boxed

I love them dearly. But maybe some tix to a male spa (and, no, not "gay bathhouse" razz ) or a weekend where I'm either sent away on leisure -- or they are, leaving me with a comfy bachelor pad for a couple days -- could be an amazingly refreshing gift.

All men seriously like a Random BJ that we aren't expecting...and didn't ask for. A nice random BJ goes a long way. It really shows you care. wink Oh you meant a Christmas gift. A nice dress shirt and pants ( something you like to see him in ) that he can wear when you take him out to the nicest restaurant in town

Cash (or a gift card) is always romantic in my book. Women tend to over-think the gifts they give to men. Most of us are a lot easier than women are. We prefer the simpler things.

Why should it be romantic? Is it because giving a romantic gift is really about you? Meaning, does it make you feel better to give a gift like that? Or is it because a guy really does want a romantic gift?

I'm asking women in general here.

Not a jerk at all ! hug

I am not sure you can give a general "gift" of romance ~ Men think/feel much different ( usually ) about what IS romantic ...

I had this romantic notion/gift giving idea several yrs back ... I gave Michael a once in a lifetime dream fly rod ~ in my mind the knowing that he would be so pleased and happy for years on the streams fishing his hearts content out was SO extremely romantic mushy

and I was right lol

Does he have a hobby (other than music)?

If so you could get something that he would appreciate but wouldn't necessarily buy for himself, (a first-edition comic book, a rare bottle of wine, a subscription to something, etc.).

shrug Forget about the "romantic" part. We don't need that. Just say the word (or show some nipple) and we're THERE. Better yet, after he opens up the obligatory ties, T-shirts and slippers on Christmas Day, be waiting at night lying in bed wearing nothing but your gift. Whatever's inside...it'll definitely be "romantic".
