What a guy. Played every home game of his life within 100 miles of Dallas. A legend at SMU.
My favorite Meredith story was on Monday Night Football one year, the Houston Oilers were getting blown out. As the camera panned the nearly-empty Astrodome, it focused on one good ol' boy who was apparently asleep in his seat.
But he wasn't. He looked up at the camera and flipped the bird. Meredith didn't miss a beat and said, "Look - he still thinks his team is number one!" | |
