It's official... I have a shopping addiction and I think it's starting to become a problem.
Anyone else? | |

Shopping addiction? No.
I have a loan money to family addiction which sucks because the money is still gone, but I don't get to take anything home.

Well, that sucks. At least mine is fun.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yup.
They're not getting anything from me for Christmas.

I'm mad because I did a long online survey that said it paid me $10.00 and it didn't, fuckers!!!
I buy too much stuff online, but it's just really small stuff, mostly for the kids.

Good, Fauxreal. Stick it to them.
This year I only have 5 people to buy for...well, 4 then a couple - so they are only getting one gift.
I also want to buy this coat...for me. Like, I NEED it.

How do the Nepalese people feel about Yeti poaching?
Just giving you shit. I don't actually know anything about fashion.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It's absolutely a yeti look...I think that's why I love it. It's ridiculously fabulous.
I'm trying to justify all this buying by reminding myself that I am moving to a small ass town and the shopping is going to suck. I need to get this all now.
Plus, I actually want to be that odd chick in the town that dresses "weird" (to them).

That's cool. Well, hope you're able to get your hands on one.
And your justification seems perfectly valid.

I'll see tomorrow when I stop by the shop to look at it.
My son wants a Kinnect this year. So I think I'll have to pick that up early since I think every kid wants it this year.

Perhaps. At this point I haven't heard much about there being a shortage of them, but I imagine that could very well change. But I think usually the high demand electronics are in short supply even this far out from Christmas, if that's a sign of anything to come.

Certain items, yes. And it's automatic - I don't even think about it. Fortunately, most of the time they aren't very expensive. In general, shopping, yes. But buying, no. I can shop all day long without ever spending money.... unless I go in a book or record store. In that case, see the beginning of this response.

My kid told me he wants KNex (I don't know what it is but he spelled it out) is that the same thing? this is not one of the 2 kids who don't know what they want, this guy has a list as long as my arm.

Oh well, I'll see tomorrow.
Guess this thread is going to bomb.
No one else uses retail therapy I guess.

The thing I am getting is for an xbox 360.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
no. Kinect is a peripheral device for the XBOX360.
K'Nex are like Legos and Lincoln Logs had babies.

Night Crew in full effect though...
I don't think I have used the phrase "in full effect" since the early 90's. Probably didn't even use it then.

Doesn't seem to be a shortage of any game systems or peripherals in the Bay Area yet. I was out shopping a lot over this past weekend and they had everything at pretty much ever store I went to. Watching people play the new motion sensor games (like with the Kinect) was really annoying, but highly entertaining. Fools jumpin' up and down, back and forth, contorting their bodies weird ways RIGHT THERE in the stores while people walked by and looked at 'em like

Oooooh. I never had those. I had Legos (s intentional), Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys and Erector Sets in full affect, though!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
we don't know what that is either an orger has once explained it to me, like you can build a log cabin with it?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I always thought it meant poop in a toilet.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Oh! we have never had a set of those, but funnily enough, we have pieces like that here and there in the lego box
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No Lincoln Logs? For shame! I think they looked the coolest, but actually had the least amount of replay time. I seem to remember using them with my Legos or Erector Set a few times.

Lincoln Logs...not to be confused with poop...though probably just as interesting.
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
So you just build fences and log cabins?
Wow, fun. | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well what else did Abraham Lincoln build with logs? It's art imitating life.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Was Lincoln a carpenter? Like Jesus?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Hey... you could build other buildings... with corners... and stuff.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
See!
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Ya, I see that you can also build a pile of logs.
