anybody else into jade?

i bought a jade statue online yesterday, completed the transaction then got an e-mail today telling me that "one of our workers broke" the statue i (thought) i'd paid for, and forwarding links to different statues and asking me to choose a replacement.... none of which look like the little statue i bought

when i checked their website, they had a listing for a statue very similar to the one i wanted.. but it wasn't offered to me as a substitute.

i'm afraid they are baiting and switching me.

anyone here know of a reputable dealer online???

sorry to hear of your misfortune. I usually go through Amazon, because at least there is a "parent" organization to complain to..novica.com is usually also reputable

aww. you rescued my thread. well, it's not really a misfortune. i went through ebay, and it's okay, they'll refund my money and everything. i'm just disappointed that i didn't get the same item i bid on

i've been reading up on jade. it's everywhere. in south america when the conquistadores came looking for gold, the natices heaved a sigh of relief that they hadn't come for their jade. in china, new zealand, everywhere it's found jade is considered 'sacred'. interesting stone.

i'm thinking i'll quit my job and become a prospector

they look kind of like this, but slightly different. the jade is more blue green. i'd take a photo of them but my camera has gone missing....
