What about the car wash?

You pay more or less about $20 for a decent wash, ...then there's a tip box for the "vacuum crew" and another one for the "drying crew".

WTF?

On the rare occasion I actually take our vehicle to a full-service wash, I usually slip a dollar or two to the guy who is lucky enough to be standing closest to me when I get in my ride. lol I just assume they'll split it appropriately with coworkers, which, I admit, is a pretty stupid assumption now that I think about it. confused

I am conflicted about take-out, I sometimes tip and sometimes don't. I am glad to hear not everyone does!

Tipping is getting out of hand, though. It really should be voluntary for excellent service only and employers should simply pay their employees (ie raise the cost of food) enough for them to live off of. But a standard 20% tip really makes no sense. What is the point?

1st,im not a math/numbers kind of person AT ALL. i found the easiest way to tip, than pulling out my cellphone and trying to find the TIP CALCULATOR is to just double the tax...anybody else do this?

THE REAL QUESTION:

if you go to the TO GO side of a restaurant, ie, me getting some wings from my favorite OUTBACK just cos i can, as opposed to going inside..do you still tip?

I do but....im wondering is it unnecessary?

what yall think? confused

Tip for whattttt? You going in and picking up a bag of food? Was there even a waitress involved in this whole transaction?

I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

This thread is about restaurant tipping. I can't say I tip 15-20% everywhere I go.
