Make sure you're taking at least 4 200-mg Advil per dose. That'll get you to prescription strength. The Advil will help with the inflammation - the Tylenol #3 will handle the pain.

Hope everything goes well with getting it removed. hug

Ok, I took 1 400mg and 2 tylenol 3s. About 3 hours ago.

I honestly can't believe how much pain I am in....still.

Lots of tears today...sobbing actually. sad

I hope you're feeling a little better today. Cry as much as you need to - letting the stress build up is the worst. Things will get better.

It's what you make it.

Oh gosh... When it rains it pours, eh?

It really sucks with all the stress-related ailments since they hit you when you're already weakened. It's as if your own body wants to finish you off. I know how that feels. At least M seems to be doing ok judging by your previous thread. That's important.

Good luck at the dentist's, and whatever you do - don't read Numer23's thread about tooth extraction before you go. lol

I've been holding myself back from posting. smile I'd just say follow CarrieLee's advice after extraction and take bloody good care of the clot. Dry socket is like someone slowly twisting a screwdriver through your bare testicle.

When I had tooth pain that could not be dealt with immediatly, I have found that adult strength oral gel, in huge amounts all over the tooth and gum area will put it to rest for awhile.

About 3 months ago I needed 2 root canals, and the dentist my insurance insisted I use was not available for 2 days. Adult oral gel was the only thing that let my mouth fall asleep, so I could catch my breath!

sad I am so sorry that you're having to deal with so much drama in your life right now. Like RenHoek says, I have no further advice to give, but I really hope you're feeling better soon.

Get as much rest as you can and take all the help anyone offers you.

Ugh, no fun!

I am currently going to PT for TMJ! A lot of it has to do with my posture...I had no idea! My right shoulder blade is lower than my left and further away than it should be. It all connects so I am doing some strenghtening exercises in my shoulders and getting swee neck and jaw massages.

I had an impacted wisdom tooth as well, and it was infected. You might need some antibiotics, if it's infected pain medication won't do too much. If you keep eating all those pills please make sure you are eating, it can wreak havoc on your stomach!

You'll be fine once it's removed, but follow the doctors instructions. I got dry sockets and it was the worst pain in my entire life.

Oh and I also just got over a bad sinus infection. Pressure point massage on your face does WONDERS.

Good luck, girl. No fair to deal with all that at once.

It IS infected so I couldn't have it removed today. It also killed the tooth in front of it from growing into it. So on Dec 6th, I get to have 3 teeth removed (2 wisdoms and that one back molar).

sad

Thanks for all the help, guys. I'm doing ok today. I love me some drugs.

Makes me glad my parents insisted I have mine out before they could cause any problems. whew

I had one pulled about 3 years ago, another came in fine...it's the bottom two that are bastards. I'm really bummed about losing a molar though. even though it wouldn't be noticable in a smile it still bothers me. I wonder if an implant would be worth it.

I wish they could save it...but the decay is all under the gums and they said it's too late - that's actually the one that is infected, not the wisdom tooth. sad

Thinking of you, and certain that when you make it through all this, things are going to go the other way and get good... seems like that's how life is.

I'm trying! I'm really thankful that I am not working right now...can you imagine if I was? So in a way, I'm glad it's all coming to a head now before I start school....which I might even push off now until April.

If you've had a dry socket or any other excruciating tooth pain, don't ever let a woman tell you "you don't know pain." I've been through natural childbirth, and let me tell you: there is worse pain, and it is fucked up dental shit.

It's what you make it.

also the pain after an ingrown toenail operation if you let the pain killers wear off, that is INSANE to have so much pain in such a small part of your body - it felt as if I got a paper cut, right through my whole toe disbelief

Natural childbirth isn't as bad as speeded up induced labour either shake and don't get me started on the sting of post episiotomy pain

and earache - I thought my ears were going to burst when the plane landed this morning bawl

probably none of those are bad as toothache eek I've never had that before

Try ear and tooth pain at the same time. It was my ear that was killing me the most. I had involuntary movement it was hurting so bad. People at the doctor probably thought I was on drugs.

I kept saying that I totally understand how people who are in pain want to kill themselves. I can't imagine dealing with that all the time.

Poor babe. I can relate. Child birth, car crashes and broken bones, ...nothing worse than tooth pain and when I experienced a faulty route canal this past summer, that led to pulling the tooth, I was at my wits end and tried everything under the sun. I ended up walking into emerg at the local. Dr. gave me a short script (12 only) of Oxycontin. Call me naieve, but I'd never heard of OxyC and when I mentioned it to friends, they called it 'hillbilly heroin'. I can see how peeps like TI could get into trouble with it...but dayum... that stuff is smooth.

Girl, sounds like you've had your share over the last few months. Look at it this way. The human body can take alotta sheit, but it can also heal and repair itself rapidly if you nurture it. You're young and your mind can summon the strength you need (maybe try a little biofeedback). Take it a day at a time and clumb back up there.

I'd be interested in hearing what your dentist is going to recommend after pulling them. I found that after having both my wisdom's removed that my face changed slightly. I liked it at first...little more cheek bone, but I also realized that those two teeth were holding UP my face and that I can see a couple new wrinkles from lthe hollow it has created. So, I'd like to know best solution to replace. Posts sound so deadly to me....just the thought of it....and a removable plate just sounds like false teeth...well dammit it is.

Love your body.
