It's a movie that, while I enjoyed it, I have no desire to see it again. The first 3 I have seen at least ten times apiece.
I hate the way they dragged some things out like when the kids were in the forest but sped up introducing Bill Weasley who was in the movie for five seconds or the explanation of Mad Eye's death.
And then there is always the adding stuff in that wasn't in the book. |

Can't believe all the haters!!!
I actually enjoyed this one more than the last 2 or 3.
It was more action and less kids-trying-to-be-dramatic. The characters are older and the pace of the film suited them.
I am definitely glad that they're breaking up the book into 2 movies, as I thought that "Half Blood Prince" should've been 2 movies as well (hlaf that damned book was left out of the film!!!). This one was decently true to the book (not perfectly, of course, but much better than some of the last ones).
I give it out of 5 By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! |

so hard to please!!!

And there was no reason except for $$$ to divide the movie into 2 parts..just cut out stupid travelling scenes.
They actually did cut out traveling scenes. That's how RIDICULOUSLY long the traveling scenes were in the book.
L.O.V.E.D. the movie. I'm firmly planted in denial |

There is a part in the movie where a story about the 3 brothers is being told. One of the brothers in the story had this wand that, what I can only describe as bumps along its length. At the end Voldemort opens Dumbledores grave/crypt and takes his wand - and if any of you noticed - it's the same looking wand as one of the brothers in the story.......
Umm... have you read the books? It is the same wand. (Apologies if somebody else already mentioned this.) |

I want to see this but I have been pretty relectant because I hate the new director that they have for it and after seeing Movie # 5, I decided that I was never gonna watch another HP movie directed by him ever again so I just said screw it. But according to some friends of mine, I heard that it was good but there was gonna be a part two of it though but, idk. |

Yes, better than I expected (and I hate the current director as well - or rather, I hate some of the decisions he's made and some that he's supported). But the first part of DH makes up just a BIT for the last two. It is a pretty damn good film. The performances by the three lead actors are a major part of that, though. They finally feel like they're doing some all the way real acting (especially Emma).
Yes, two movies. If you've read the books the first part ends just after the escape from the Malfoy's mansion. |
