Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- A young boy fell to his death from a luxury suite at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Sunday night, according to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The boy, who was between 2 and 3 years old, fell from the suite around 10 p.m. local time, Sgt. Frank Alvelais told CNN. The boy was transported to the USC Medical Center, where he later died, Alvelais said.

Reminds me of when I went to the "Musicology Tour" at the Staples Center, my son kept pulling me back down, he was worried I was going to fall off of the balcony as I was making the fool of myself trying to jump up and down, on the balcony..trying to see small tiny Prince in the distance.

Poor family rose

"LAPD officials say the boy's parents had taken pictures and were reviewing them on a camera moments before he apparently wandered out of their site and somehow fell over the glass partition."

Why are you not surprised? You were expecting this? Or you know the parents and find their skills lacking?

Kids do that though, even with the most hypervigilant parents. But god forbid you put a leash on your child either....

It's politically incorrect, of course - but I have to question why a 2 or 3-year-old child was at a basketball game at 10 o'clock at night. Presumably, parents who can afford a luxury box can afford a babysitter.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That crossed my mind as well.

I have no sympathy for his parents. Taking pictures and reviewing them was obviously more important than keeping a watchful eye on the toddler.
