wow! glad he's ok. similar thing happened to my youngest on halloween day. he was over patting out 3 year old german shepherd, next thing I know he's crying saying the dog bit him and his lip is bleeding. It wasn't bad enough to even take him to the hospital but still scary. I don't really know what to do about it...at first I thought for sure the dog was going to meet his maker but...I didn't want that to happen either.

My dogs has never been aggressive, I'd like to think it was an "accident" but hate the thought of givig the dog a second chance at the cost of my kids face again. sad

again, very glad your son is OK.

As a cat owner, I have nothing to say about the dog biting incident, other than, I bet you looked hot at the hospital.

I hope the little man is okay. Dogs can be such cunts - invest in a cat.

A cat, I say!

Cats are not always trustworthy either. Truthfully I'd have my kid around a mean dog before a mean cat. Cats tend to be be really nasty when aggressive!

nod As a cat owner, I have to agree with this. Cats definitely have their moments too. Shoot, the one day I had one of my cats laying right in front of me as I was reading the paper, sitting on the floor. When I went to turn the page, all of a sudden, the cat flipped out and nipped me! I don't know what the hell got into him all of a sudden, but he got a stern "No!" told to him. He's never tried it again, because now he knows better. lol Stupid cat, trying to bite me. I'll bet he wouldn't have acted that way if he was hungry, and was looking for his food. lol

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

My friend's pit bull was jumped by two cats. They JACKED him up! Poor baby had to go to the vet. He just happened to walk past the posse and they got him. Yup, they are pretty vicious too.

omfg Yikes! Poor dog. sad

That's horrible....hope he's doing better.

The day before that my 19yr old niece was bit in the face by her older brothers pitbull when petting it.

It took her whole upper lip off.

The had the dog put down right away.

She had to go into surger for 4-5 hrs.

They were able to pull some of the skin on both side of the upper lip over to stitch it together.

Will have to have a few more surgersy but now lip for now.

Poor thing...... I feel so bad for her. Her face is swollen on 1 side and just a stitched line down the side of her nose, lip and bottom lip.

Looked better than I thought but she will be very self conscious now...sad

Glad to hear your son is fine though (both emotionally and physically).

Fortunately he's a dude, and years from now the scar he received "while fighting off a pack of wild coyotes" will get him attention from the ladies.

Decided to take him to our family doctor because I just had this funny feeling something was not right....and sure enough, he's badly infected. Had to re-open one of the wounds and out came copious amounts of puss. Ugh! Awful, and so very painful for him to have it done. sad

My doctor feels that they should not have glued the wounds in the first place. Hot compresses and continuous draining for today and we go back tomorrow.

This totally sucks.

Don't get me wrong I love my cat, but I am more afraid of her than I am my neighbors pitbulls. They are just a couple of big babies.

I am sorry to hear about the infection Justerin, he will be fine since you brought him right back to the doctor like a good mom.

I have been bitten in the face when I was young, too. It was a nice dog, but I startled it while it was eating the garbage. It obviously did not mean to attack as I was just scratched. Still...these are animals that can kill small children.

My co-worker has a crazy ass wolf dog and she let it loose one afternoon and it came in and started eating my garbage. I just watched it and hoped I had not left any used needles in there. I've learned my lesson.

I don't know what your occupation is, but I hope it involves the usage of needles and the ones that you feared would be in the trash were not from, uh, recreational use.

I'm glad the children are ok.

A dog owner's worst nightmare..

dang..

This isn't a child, obviously, but one of my dogs was bitten by other dog during a walk once. I stopped to tell this couple whose dog wasn't on a leash to be careful because there were coyote traps in the area.

I no more than stopped..trying to do a nice thing when their dog jumped and attacked my dog--biting her on the lip and nose...

There was blood everywhere! Anyway... I didn't respond well.. in that I was so upset I picked her up and carried her all the way home .. I'm telling you I ran through close to 3 miles of trails.. carrying my 15lbs dog, so I could take her to the vet.

I didn't get their name.. I didn't get anything!sad I think I asked if their dog was vaccinated. They apologized, saying it had never happened before.. which could have very well been true..

Anyway, my dog was ok.. But she was scared for a while when other dogs approached her.
