I'm losing my job Friday

Don't be sad for me! I'm so HAPPY!

Everyone in that place is SO HAPPY! I never have experienced a lay-off, but I promise you I don't think that EVERYONE would be high fiving each other! I guess when a job is that awful, you don't care. You just want it to be over. Bad economy or not, we have had ENOUGH!

The company I worked for is a nonprofit, which means my severance is not much, but I'm taking advantage of the workforce reinvestment act, which was passed in 1998. Although I have a Masters, I have not been able to find stable work. So I'm going to go back AGAIN and this time on the act/grant's tab (because my piece of shit job was eliminated). I think that I'll get a certification of sorts while focusing on my home based work; which I've neglected for two years. Find some tech gig (because God knows they aren't hiring professionals) and work my arse off on my home gig.

So Friday at 3pm I might just moon that AWFUL sesspool of negativity and throw a party in the parking lot! Cocktails all around! absolut martini beer

I'm FUCKING FREEEEE!!!!!! Goodbye shitty job!! wave HELLOOOOO options and opportunity!!!

I'll be joiing you in a month n a half.

Wanna come visit?

I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

Thanks folks! And sure I'll join ya! I'm taking two weeks off after this. I want to enjoy Thanksgiving with my friends and family. Then it's time to make strategy!

Oh, the place I worked for set us up with a job placement company as well. KICK ass resume and interview workshops, coaches, and head hunters.

I say for being treated like the dirt on the bottom of one's shoe for two years, I guess we did end up blessed!

Target is FOR profit!! lol

This job I had was full of people that had businesses and they went under, lots of real estate folks, jobs lost, it was crazy! And then they were so patronizing to say in meetings "we're so amazed at the quality of work lately!" That's because the economy is in the toilet and you have professionals doing shit work!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, I work for the American Red Cross, Blood Services Division. My DEPARTMENT is being consolodated. It never made sense how our dept was run. I always thought it was so wasteful, like all that we did should be centralized. Well it is now!

Side note. Please still donate blood! The satellite office that I worked in was a HOT mess. But please don't stop if you do. I'm not letting it stop me from donating. I'd hate to be in a wreck and I not be saved because someone was too busy to take their punk ass to a blood drive and get stuck for ten minutes! wink

Only halfway joking.

Glad you're okay with it! lol

Best of luck with the new ventures.

Sounds like you have good plan in place; hope everything works out for you. smile

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Thanks guys!!!!

It feels like the last week of school in that place! I guess if it is truly a miserable place and everyone is so unhappy, the loss of the job blow was worth it to be free of that awful place! wink
