DeeDee & Dexter
Sjors & Sjimmie Sad to say that my cartoon themed cats are not all there anymore. Lost Sjimmie to a car. Sjimmie was the best; she was the crankiest cat in the world. She hated everyone except me. Sjors is still chasing mice at my mom's place, as I could not put her in an appartment. And DeeDee & Dexter are my neurotic new cats. They are people shy. They have potential, they are opening up, but it took me two years of nurturing. | |

New a lady who had a dog named DeeOhGee, or D.O.G.! Actually pronounced Dee oh gee. I asked her why she named her dog D.O.G., she said she couldn't think of a name. |

i moved into a rented place once and the previous occupant had basically just left the cat behind, so it was always hanging around...i named him hendrix ...one day i got home to find hendrix getting taken from behind by some other cat...turns out he was a she...after that she got named (i know this isn't pc) hendrix the poofter cat...eventually we had to move out and couldn't take her with us...so we found a place that found homes for animals...it was pretty funny when they asked her name...
but the STRANGEST pet name i've seen was "not quite the full iced vo vo" which was a cat that belonged to a friend...i'm pretty sure there were lots of drugs involved in that naming ceremony .. | |

This one girl at my school named her cat Fallopian tube
I think that would qualify as strange! She never told any of us why... --»You're my favourite moment, you're my Saturday... | |

I had, or, have 3 parakeets named Broccoli, Cauliflour, and Corn...who lay 7 eggs---only 4 of which hatched...into becoming named Strawberry, Banana, Blueberry, and Kiwi...
Most of them were named as such because of their beautiful and bright colorings... And, they all live together, a family, in the sunroom. Btw...I have another pet who I love that I named Bo... . [This message was edited Fri Jan 31 6:02:44 PST 2003 by BelleBeyond] | |

wellbeyond said: Rdhull's mention about dealing with his cat () made me think of this question: What's the strangest, weirdest or most unique name you've either given your pet or that you've heard someone else give their pets?
I'll start off...lol...I had two cats I named Cheeseburger and Razor...I also had a cat I named Squirt Bottle, but I gave him away about a month after he was born... Anyone else??...Please don't tell me everyone names their cat "Mittens" and their dogs "Rover"... :O I knew a little boy who wanted to name his soon-to-be-born sibling lunchbox if it was a girl or Zack if it was a boy! | |

My cat's name is Iggy! His sister's name is Jinx. My niece (who was 3 at the time) named her cats Wish and Gummy Also, when I was growing up we had a Hungarian Komandor by the name of Kutcha (it means 'dog' in Hungarian -- my dad's Hungarian and he thought this was cool...I guess it's sort of like naming your dog Dee-Oh-Gee) [This message was edited Fri Jan 31 6:56:01 PST 2003 by applekisses] | |

Here is a few of my pet's names over the years:
--- A little story...a friend of mine, who used to live in Ontario, California. Had a dog named Ebony...for obvious reasons. The dog did have a dogtag with her name on it...one day the dog got out, and later that night...this family calls and says...do you have a dog named EE-BONE-EE? Futile humor, but it cracked me up! | |

I had a little kitty when I was about 14 or so that I named "Pop Top" (I don't know why)... I went and got him from the pound, immediately took him in for his shots and check up, brought him home... he was SO cute!
Hours later I left with my mom to go and do some shopping. When we returned, Pop Top was dead in the road. He apparently snuck by as us we were on our way out. I think I spent all of four hours with him. I should have just let him be at the pound. Anyway... I thought Pop Top was a strange name. I hadn't given that kitty a thought in many years until now. | |

My Aunties cat was called Mishoo which when I grew up believed to be 'Cat' in Polish..12 years later I realised it wasnt - cat is 'kot' in Polish!
People always play tricks on me which go on for years! My little brothers hamster was called 'Chomik' which did mean 'hamster' in Polish! (pronounced 'Homik' without the 'C') My little brother got another hamster called Thomas who wasnt very playful and was very timid. One day my mum walked past the cage and heard a massive sound but Thomas actually gave birth to 10 baby hamsters! Thomas still was called Thomas though! One of the babies ran up the ladder in the cage and got its leg caught in the rung, the leg turned black and dropped off - so we named this three legged hamster 'Tripod' Our dog was called Fudge and my guinea pigs when I was little were Pinky and Perky! I think... hmm... | |
