I've come across a few gold diggers in my days and they're usually easily spotted. It's as if a light turns on in their eyes when they find out that the guy they're talking to has money or a lucrative career. The most amusing cases are when they have an outright negative attitude up until that point, and suddenly that all changes to the opposite as if from a wave of a magic wand. One of these women snared herself a good friend of mine who's a banker. I bet she's still rubbing her hands together to this day.

Then there are the ones who aren't pure gold diggers since the money isn't a make-or-break issue but "who see it as an obvious plus". I'm not sure what to think of these women. Of course I can't blame them for appreciating something that facilitates life so much, but at the same time I wouldn't want to go for someone where money (over a basic level) matters at all. It makes me uncomfortable when I can tell it does.
