NBC has lowered the ax on its new series "Undercovers."

The show was created by J.J. Abrams, who is best known as the creator of "Lost," and follows a married couple who work side-by-side as undercover detectives.

Abrams caught the attention of the all the networks when he starting pitching the show last year. NBC ultimately won a bidding war for the show and ordered six episodes.

Critics were hopeful that "Undercovers" may breathe life into this year's lackluster primetime lineup, riding on the fresh twist of a black married couple as the two leads.

The show has, however, struggled to compete for ratings in its 8 PM time slot on Wednesdays, consistently losing out to CBS's "Survivor" and ABC's "The Middle."

NBC has confirmed that three of the remaining six episodes will air on November 10, 17, and December 1.

I'm not surprised. Everyone expected something smart, dark, intriguing, and what they got was a sort of goofy Hart to Hart littered with annoying supporting characters and eye candy.

This show could have been awesome. But the concept suffered from a horrible treatment.

Boris CANNOT act and the writing 4 this show was below average.

It was terrible I watched it a couple of times trying to give Boris a chance, but it was whack and the lady is a Kerry Washington look alike

I never watched it, but it didn't look very good. Very few new shows this season looked decent at all.

I liked that one scence in the first episode where he goes to the boss to tell him he's in but not to tell his wife, and then boss opens the door and his wife is standing there and he says, "Oh, heh heh, honey. Hi, honey!" I thought that was so cute!

the show was dissapointing. i just watched the last 3 eps last night as i wasn't that bothered about watching them the last few weeks, partly as there are too many other shows to follow at the moment

most of this years new shows are pretty lame. boardwalk empire is about the only decent new show of note. walking dead looks a bit boring. rubicon wasn't all that either. nikita doesn't live up to expectations. hawaii 5-0 ain't bad, but isn't as exciting as the first few eps. some of the new comedies are really lame, better with you, melissa and joey. shit my dad says is okay, but not up to the standard of the office or modern family

this years shows needs a cull, and people sent back to the board to do better

Boris sho look good though. Can you believe there was a bidding war for this show?

The Event is going to bite the dust too if it hasn't already done so. People want ACTION & SUSPENSE. We've got enough comedy to laugh ourselves into retardation.

That mofo been skatin' on his looks since Day 1. I was done after seeing him butcher Cat on a Hot TIn Roof on Broadway. How this fool thought he could be on stage with James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose and Giancarlo Esposito??? Talk about outta his depth. The only redeeming thing about his ass was that the show opened with him in a shower.

damn, ive only seen 2 first run episodes so far. It wasnt great but shouldve had more time.

I really REALLY wanted to love this show. Unfortunately, this show was boring. Half the time I had it on I wasn't paying attention b/c there was something more interesting somewhere else in the house.

They wife was not believable as a secret agent. They should have paired him with...I dunno...a chick that looked like she could kick ass instead of one that looked like she hung out at the spa all damn day.

We never did find out why the agency REALLY wanted them back.

You know a show is boring as hell when you would rather watch Fox News....or reruns of Seinfeld.

Never watched it, the lady looks good, thats about it.

I liked this better when it was called Mr. & Mrs. Smith (and every other spy couple plot ever made).

I hope the JJ Abrams backlash rides hard for another couple years. He deserves it.

You meant Hart To Hart, right? Or was that Remington Steele? Or was it Scarecrow and Mrs. King?

I know we want African American actors to succeed on network TV, but this show just wasn't that good. The storylines were mish-mashed and recycled, and the spy stories just weren't compelling. They weren't even on the level of Chuck, Nikita, Covert Affairs, or Burn Notice.

And for all the hype over J.J. Abrams, his most succesful show on TV was Lost, and he only had a marginal influence on that show after the initial pilot. His other shows (Felicity, Alias, Fringe) managed only to draw niche audiences, and he has had his share of flops as well. But he gets a couple of big screen blockbusters like Mission Impossible 3 and the reboot of Star Trek, and everyone in Hollywood thinks he's a genius. Ultimately, I think a lot of people expected a small screen version of Mission Imposible 3 wirth sexy black actors and ended up with a pedestrian romance/spy thriller which wasn;t so thrilling.
