I didn't say ugly, I said plain-looking, and they're definitely not a myth. I've seen them with my own eyes. They might not always be as successful as their better-looking friends but that doesn't make them any less gold diggers.

The gold digger women are very clever at figuring out your financial status through semi-inconspicuous questions, for example "where did you go on vacation last year?" or "what do you do for a living?" or even "where do you live?". It might even be enough that you wear a nicer-brand sweater for them to pick up enough of a scent of money to want to see where it leads. His gold digger girlfriend went after him since he'd gone straight from work to a bar and therefore was wearing a sharp suit, so that was a no-brainer. I'm merely saying that it probably doesn't feel like a great start to be forced to lie to someone you're interested in. A luxury problem of course, but a problem nonetheless.

This is interesting. I was married pretty young, and my wife and I built what we have pretty much together. So there never was a time I was, on the one hand, trying to find a mate, but, on the other hand, trying to safeguard my material riches against a potential parasite. Must be a headache.
