Charlie Murphy gets Booed off Stage @ Grambling

http://www.youtube.com/wa..._7Fnry6ROk

Charlie was so wrong neutral The audience shared some responsibility too and Grambling administration was wrong for booking that kind of comedian neutral

the sound is atrocious. i've always thought of Charlie as a master storyteller but a bad comedian anyway.

Guess they just didn't like his jokes and delivery eek You know he is kinda laid back and alittle raunchy at times lol Guess the administration didn't do their homework when they booked him eek they really shoulda picked somebody less raunchy for a college with younger folks. He said "fuck" the crowd and tore their check up.

U know I think people get into Charlies because of the Chappelle show and the fact that he is Eddie's brother, but he has a totally different sense of humour lol

I'm listeniing on headphones and I can't make out a thing he's saying mad

That being said, it has been explained to me that comedians (at least the modern day, business savvy ones) have 2 different sets of jokes to reach all audiences when they do stand-up: They have the non-cursing set, and then they have what the call the "blue" set, where they do the raunchier stuff (if that's part of their repetoire). Most older comedians will tell you this, and they actually have jokes written and archived so they can bounce back and forth between the two audiences with ease, regardless of occasion. Just as the Grambling U administration maybe should have given pause to consider if Murphy was the right comedian for their event, Charlie should have known what audience he was dealing with as well, and presented fitting material accordingly. That's just show business.

I wish someone could find a better soundind vid wink and I agree with everything you said. Certain atmospheres require certain material-it's just good business lol

Mooney certainly doesn't pull punches shake But I don't think it's the raunch Grambling disliked. Murphy's delivery is just way too chill. He's delivering here like he's sitting around in a billiard bar toasted with his homies. stoned Folk want a show! And Mooney, while never acting a full-on clown, does toss around a quick wit.

In Mooney's case though, he def knows his audience.

But the FUNNIEST thing about Mooney's shows is, the fact that some people(mostly white people) set themselves up by going there(knowing its a Paul Mooney show), act offended and leave in the middle of the show triggering Mooney to unleash a heap of verbal abuse on them lol

If you already know the man is rough and you'll liable to have a problem with it,,,uh,,,,,WHY DID YOU SHOW UP? confuse lol

You're absolutely right.

What gets me is that the white audience members, God bless their souls, seem usually pretty good at buying tickets early, then showing up early and getting the best seats in the house -- so they end up not only in the audience, but right up front, where Mooney can eviscerate them face-to-face! shake I don't know how they do it. I just don't have that sort of constitution. boxed I can only imagine that some of them know what to expect and get off on the terror -- kind of akin to hopping a roller coaster or visiting a haunted house. lol

I've though about that over the years........I'm beginning 2 think that it is a part of Paul's act. Hired hands.....so 2 speak.
