Help: Fun things to do in Chicago?

I'm visiting Chicago this weekend for my birthday and I need some suggestions for fun things to do this weekend and/or fun places to go? Where do Chicago people go to shop? What's the best restaurants to go to that have good food? Any good bars, dance clubs? Any places or streets or anything in Chicago that I MUST visit? Any suggestions will be great!

I imagine you could masturbate in Chicago. That's always fun, and all you need is a little time alone. Unless you like to perform.

Ok to answer your question since I live in chicago. Here are some of my favorite places to go to.

The Crow Bar - gay club (no I am not gay...the club is good though)

bar Chicago - My favorite club

Alumni Club which is right next to bar chicago also

Club Berlin is having its prince night this sunday I believe...it is all prince all night long from 8pm to 4am. That is fun too.

Restaurants - Tuscanys great Italin food, Chipolte, Cosi, giodanos, just to name a few.

Shopping - Water Tower Place is my favorite place to go shopping, There is a Virgin Mega Store on Michigan Ave...and the rest of Michigan Ave is pretty hopping on the weekends...As well as Division, State and Rush...this is where alot of the bars listed above are.

Hope this helps big grin

i would hope they would avoid such advice, but if they
couldn't resist trying it, i would hope they had a pretty
good story to tell when they got back... lol

My stops in Chi-town:

The Magnificent Mile - Michigan Avenue shopping & boutiques
The Water Tower - more shopping
Navy Pier - overall entertainment... food, laser tag, etc.
Harold's Chicken Shack - you can't visit Chitown without (but you gotta be willin to venture to the South Side)
DuSable Museum - African-American history & culture

Yeah I forgot about that. I'd usually visit in the summer time round the Taste of Chicago.

best thing is NOT to go to touist attractions!!!BORING! especially navy peir

if you like music drive around and youll see all kinds of record stores and cd stores go to the ones that aren't commercialized youll find great stuff there

goe to bars down in the lincolin belmont danmeon visinity

there is a kick ass bar with pretty good live music on brodway its right next to a hotdog place at night its the only thing open on that road the road dont look nice but that one spot is

Ill write the list of bars to go to in a sec

in the lincolin belmont area there are a number of mid century modern antique stores if you like that kind of stuff

any where on Halsted (boystown) can be interesting and the surrounding area around halsted you'll find all kinds of stuff

cause they cater to the gay community your not gonna find anything down scale (on halsted and the surrounding area) that doesnt mean it all gay orientd though its just pretty nice

If you want to go down town like to shop at water tower place it acctually quit boring unless you just on the lottery but its col to see the buildings (dont run over anybody ) its very conjested in the streets with people and carsonce you go there once you wont feel like going back down town

if you likr upscale moder italian furniture go to superior and Luminere is the best place to go for that and all around it are art galleries and other upscale furniture

of coures all shopping needs to be done during the day down town evrything closes early

but if you are in the othe r areas its quite fun going to the other stores they stay open pretty late until just before you feel the need to go have a drink or a few

take the train dont drive!! or you wont get anything done
