I think you can use the most proper of terminology and be condescending or improper. It's all in the way it's said IMO. I can totally let a bitch (chick) have it by just calling her "m'am". shrug

I just hate it when people curse for no reason. If something bad/frustrating happens, then fine. But I swear, the people at my highschool, it's like

"Man, there's a clear fucking blue sky today"

Also, I hate it when people refer to me as "man." I'm a chick, thank you very much.

I think that's a carribean thing. My ex used to say that and the tone in which he said it gave me the impression that it was something you said to avoid saying "Jesus Christ" in vain. I never really asked him what it meant I just assumed it was some colloquialism he got from his dad since he said it too.

Mostly I just think it's not good to do this-people have to remember that first impressions are a bitch-sometimes when folks make me mad like this I will choose to not spend my money in that store again. Also ur actions speak alot to-what are you doing while saying these things to people? I took my son to buy school clothes back in Aug and we were buying jeans-the cashier was kinda throwing his stuff in a bag and saying "here you go honey" as if to shit on the stuff he just bought. I have never spent another dollar there-sometimes you don't have to tell a person off, but hit them where it really hurts in the pocket wink .

Thats why I said "some". Because the other some are genuinely nice.

Everytime I visit my auntie who lives in Arizona, old folks there shower me with "sweetie", "honey", "dahling", and "child, I don't say nothing because again some of them don't mean nothing by it.

But when these 15 years who were fresh snots in their daddy's balls address me as honey just for the sake of ending a sentence,,,,somebody's ass is gonna get verbally abused hammer

People have gotten so confrontational. ANYTHING can be taken as an insult. Honestly, I'm not spending the time in my day thinking of how I can insult the next person I come into contact with. I'm also not spending time in my day thinking about EXACTLY what I need to say to the next person I come into contact with that will not insult their delicate constitution.

When I come to work in the morning I have a list of 50 patients, mostly women (and a man here or there on occasion) that I will come into contact with. I will be in their holy presence for, hopefully about 10-15 minutes minimum, 2 hours maximum. I want them to be as comfortable as they can be, but frankly, I'm not going to spend a lot of time making sure the experience is EXACTLY what THEY think it should be. I'm friendly, efficient and professional, if that somehow rubs someone the wrong way, too damn bad.

To be bugged or insulted by someone who called you "Hon" in the spance of a minute interaction? Pishaw...to each their own of course, but seriously, I'm more insulted by the person who is outright rude.

boxed rant over....sorry.
