Tim Burton, Johnny Depp's Dark Shadows Project
November 5, 2010
Warner Bros. has slotted its long-simmering "Dark Shadows" project for a spring production start with Johnny Depp starring.
Depp has been attached to star and produce with Graham King's GK Films and Depp's Infinitum Nihil for the past three years with Tim Burton expected to direct.
Richard Zanuck, Christi Dembrowski and David Kennedy are also producers. Seth Grahame-Smith penned the script.
Kennedy brought the project to Depp from the estate of Dan Curtis, the producer-director who created the vampire soap opera that aired weekdays on ABC from 1966 to 1971 with 1,225 episodes.
Studio hasn't set a release date for the film.

Is this picture recent? Johnny looks FANTASTIC. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Either that or admit they are father and son. They resemble each other in a weird kind of way.
I like Johnny Depp outside of a Burton film but Burton's movies are generally too predictable and lifeless for me. I can only stand Edward Scissorhands and that second Batman movie. He's to directing what Tom Cruise is to acting. bunch of

Burton looks like more of a bloated Nicholas Cage to me.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. Tim Burton keeps looking older and Johnny Depp looks almost exactly the same. Dude has definitely got the slow aging gene. Helena Bonham Carter is aging well too, though, so maybe it's something about Tim Burton.

Yes, there's something about Burton.
One thing I like about him is he has a very keen eye for beauty in his style of cinematography. He knows how to make his stars look ravishing onscreen, even in creepy costumes. Johhny is already naturally fine, but always seems to look even better in his roles for Burton. Same with Michael Keaton, Christopher Walken, Vincent Price, etc, in past films. I can't wait to view this new movie just to see how he captures Johnny this time. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Here's hoping they can make it a bit more evil than the overhyped soap opera that the original was.
I like Burton/Depps movies usually, but thought Alice in Wland was a bit of a

Although it looks like he wanted her to smell his fingers, , still: "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee
