I'm in sad shape you guys. Share your pregnancy highs lows and woes...

OMG, did I tell ya'sd how at my one doctors appt the doc told me that' my balloon is stretched out'.

Yeah. It makes me sound like a used up old bag. lol I had asked him why this baby was already way down in my peach when the other 2 were uo in my ribs and that was his response. My balloon is stretched out from the last two.

It makes me nervous that the baby is gonna come out early. But he said no thats not what it means.

Did any of yous have your kids farther apart. Like Daisy will be 6 when this one is born, and it seems I'm having a harder time all the way around with this one, and I wonder if it's cuz of my age. I was 25 last time I was pregnant now 31. But I was way healthier this time than the last time when I conceived.

I don't know. I know every pregnancys different.

How did all of yours go??

None of my guys ever engaged until the last minute, they were all up in my ribs until end of 9 months little bastards!!! pissed

I had an excess of amniotic fluid and they could swim around in there comfortably until we pulled the plug on them.

It was 2 and 3/4 years between my last 2.

First kid:

Non-induced 27 hours labour (persistent OP - posterior), epidural, emergency caesar

one week later back in hospital with wound infection mad

Second kid:

induced, epidural, episiotomy, vacuum extraction eek

Third kid:

Non-induced labour, 1.5 hours, small tear

up and about 45 minutes later

A natural labour is much easier to cope with than one that is induced. I couldn't cope with the intensity of the induced one, had to have an epidural 30 minutes into it, which then led to the nastiness of nastiness, episiotomy shake

THANK YOU!!!!! Theres some info I can work with!

So when you go into labor on your own its less intense?

I had an episiotomy with my first, didnt feel it at the time cuzza the epidural but it took a LONG time to recover from it afterwards. Sex hurt for MONTHS after the doctors go ahead. MONTHS.

I was so scared that would happen again when they induced me with Daisy, and when I expressed my concerns to the doc, he said they would let me tear and that would be better, and it was, a LOT easier recovery.

I'm just so scared that if I go into labor naturally she will come so quickly that I won't have time to get an epidural.

yes!!! when you go into labour by yourself (both times in my experience) it starts off more gradually. I could never have been labouring away like in my first one as long as that had I been induced disbelief

Post-episiotomy pain peaks at 14 days - it's CRAZY!!!! It was 4 months before I dared have sex again.

Healing from a tear is way easier nod I was ready for sex around the 6 week mark and had no trouble at all nod whew I actually wanted to try before 6 weeks, possibly even we did hmmm

God I love talking about pregancy and birth!

My first pregnancy was good until I was about 6 months gone and developed Pruritus brought on by the pregnancy (basically a really nasty rash, like an allergy to the hormones). So the last 3 months weren't so good, but the baby was born on time (3 days early) and all went well. During this pregnancy I had a huge craving for oranges. I couldn't stop eating them.

I fell pregnant with my 2nd child when my 1st baby was 8 months old. The second pregnancy was absolutely fine, I didn't have any cravings, didn't put on too much weight (I got fat all over with first baby), the baby was on tme and the birth was pretty quick.

I was lucky enough to have drug-free natural births for both babies.

Apart from the Pruritus in my first pregancy, I loved being pregnant. I could quite happily be pregnant and give birth loads more times. It's caring for the babies afterwards that would drive me crazy.

My 2nd child, she changed the fluid levels in my body all over, and get this....that included my eyes. I woke up one morning, couldn't see and needed glasses. WTF....I heard of your nose spreading but glasses? It's true...and it happened to me. Sometime after delivery, I didn't need glasses anymore.

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

You will be fine Dani!

Everyone's experience is different. I read all sorts of books and they all said different things about child birth.

I was signed up to do a home birth. Had our house approved and everything ready. The midwife was happy with us being at home for the delivery. I was extremely healthy the entire pregnancy. The only thing that happened was VERY swollen feet the last few months. He went down on time but never fully engaged. On the last exam with the Dr, she told me that it might be a C-Section if he did not get his head down further. My mid wife was hopeful that he would do it the last minute.

I ended up being 17 days over due and had to have a C-section after 2 days of failed induction. I did go in to labour for 60 hours but water never broke and after being in the hospital for 3 days, 2 nights. I told them that I did not want to keep being induced, it was clear that he wasnt going to make an effort. A good friend of ours is an OB/GYN but lives a few hours away. We were in touch with her the whole time. She also felt that it would be a C-section. I did not have any pain meds through the 60 hours, just relied on my tens unit. The 3rd day, I said, enough is enough, he has been in there 17 days over, get the lazy bugger out already. So, they did, and he was delivered not the way that I had planned. I planned all along to be at home and do it naturally, he had other plans. I am glad that I had the experience but once was enough for me. Blessed that I did not get any stretch marks and my scar is down low enough that no one would see it and it has faaded nicely. Thank goodness for Bio Oil. mr.green

My belly is still not back to normal, my belly button is HUGE. I hope to one day look like I did before. I will be 40 in June so there will be no more babies coming out of this body!

Just keep positive thoughts and think about how awesome it will be to finally see her.

I didn't have my first till I was 30 and my second at 33. Both pregnancies were great. had a few cravings (olives and peperoncinis) and no major issues....just regular stuff...tired, feet hurt kinda things. Both my kids were high and never really seemed to drop. I don't remember exactly but I think I was about a week over due with my first.

first labor...was gonna do natural and water birth. Was in labor forever is seemed somewhere over 30 some odd ours. we tried the water birth, we tried regular in the bed pushing, but he wasn't coming out. his heart rate kept dropping everytime I pushed so I ended up with a C-section, and where I live the hospital does not do vbacs (vaginal birth after c-section) so my second was a scheduled c-section. I was actually glad about that because after 30 some odd hours of labor to end up there anyway I figured why not cut to the chase. I had no issues with healing from the section either...was up and around the next day, scar is low and not that visable. I went into labor with my second prior to the schedule date though and I think that one would have come quick because by the time I got to the hospital I could barely walk.

smile

I am all done having babies though. smile

"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

I have a very posh friend who is very prim and proper, never swears and is always on her best behaviour. When she had her baby, just as the head was crowning she shouted out 'RING OF FIRE!'

Even now (and usually at the most inconvenient times) I think about that and giggle hysterically to myself.

My first preganancy was when I was 19... I would wear spiked heels and never felt pregnant. I had a 7lb 4oz baby boy 3 weeks early... he was induced because of asthma and heart issues. I had an epidural and was shit after birthing him.

2nd pregnancy was rough... I was 29 and (10 years later) and my asthma was a mess... I got PUPS during the pregnancy because of all the meds I was on during the pregnancy, had swollen ankles and he was due in Sept I spent the hot summer pregnant and HUGE. Steve Tyler saw me and asked was I carrying twins... I said just one baby, and I was only seven months along. He was like WHOA! You're huge! and yes, I was.... I had to wear belly bras since my belly was so heavy. Matthew was born a healthy 8 lbs 9oz @ 37 weeks... he was induced also due to asthma and heart palpitations and irregularities. There was a team of 23 doctors at two hospitals via video, overseeing the birth. One of the first deliveries to sonogram heart palpitations as "normal" for asthmatic mommies so now, babies born from mothers that suffer from asthma aren't immediately subjected to cesarean section. Matthew, like his brother before... suffered heart distress during the birth process which showed up on the sonograms but was born healthy. No epidural and I was fine after.

Nia my last baby....I had her when I was 31. My emotional state was a mess, and Nia was a total surprise, I was on Depo shot when I got preggers with her.

I wasn't sick with her at all, I went full term with her and had her au natural. I birthed her so fast, the doctors didn't even get to get my papers ready. I got dressed in a gown sat on the bed, had a contraction, water sprayed out and Nia came barrelling out like lightning. Doctors were like eek

With Nia I was able to experience what natural labor, contractions, water breaking on its own and NO epidural, episiotomy etc. I was up and around after the doctor punched the shit outta my stomach. I am still looking for that doctor! mad

I love reading about this stuff and hearing my friends and family memeber's horror stories. lol

One of my aunts who has 3 kids had to have surgery because her pregnancies (each baby a 9.5 pounder) messed up her colon and bladder.

My girlfriend had induced labor because her baby was 2 weeks overdue I think but I remember her doctor saying that he felt babies should come out when they're ready and that most pregnancies should last 10 months not 9. eek

I've heard stories about the baby being in your ribs, lower belly, back, and off to the side. My other girlfriend always used to hit the left side of her belly because she said her daughter was always leaning to the left. As she neared her due date she said she could feel her daughters hair itching her. omg Sure enough when that child was born, she had the most beautiful, long and thick head of black hair.

Funny, the drs did not seem concerned about the induction not working for me. Even when I was 17 days overdue. They were still taking the sit back and wait approach. They kept me hooked to monitors to check that both of us were doing ok but still. I was the one that said, enough is enough. 60 hours of labour with nothing happening was enough for me.
