And Shanahan keeps changing his story
I don't get why the NFL hates Donovan so much. And I'm gon say it, they are still MUCH harder on black QBs and show them extra disrespect and less patience when they're underperforming. |

It was a slap in the face to Donovan, a dick move made out of anger because McNabb's not having a good year. Why doesn't that punkass coach send a message to his offensive line, who can't block for shit?
Is McNabb a great QB? No. Good, but erratic? Yes, but he doesn't deserve all crap he gets from media and fans. Like Carl Banks said, his biggest problem is he always takes the high road and never fights back, despite constantly getting slapped. |

McNabb is smart.........why not take the high road as long as the check gets cashed? He is in a no win situation. |

I'd take a bus pass and a box of donuts over Grossman. Why not give Russell a shot? [Edited 11/2/10 10:43am] |

Mr. McNabb was suppose to be the "Miracle Worker" inspite of the Redskins deficiencies ...... as duly noted by uP's observation, a sorry offensive line. I agree with da Coach, I've never seen a premier quaterback treated as such.
Go on and play Mr. Grossman, who wants to take bets on when he's going to fumble the ball at the line of scrimmage? Coach Shanahan is a jackass and a liar |

This is from one of my Philly homies at another site - interesting;
"What I find more interesting about the Redskins right now is this McNabb/Shanahan situation. There has always been whispers about McNabb's cardio, then T.O. blew it open after the Super Bowl when he called McNabb out for his conditioning. One of knocks on McNabb here, especially the last couple years, was how he ran the two minute drill. We always thought his struggles with that part of the game had a lot to do with his conditioning. Shanahan just pretty much came out and said it, where Reid would dance around it like he always did.
You can say what you want about the Eagles organization, but other than releasing Dawkins a year early, they know when to let go of veterans. I think his play this year speaks volumes as to why this team was willing to trade McNabb within the division." |

All of that may be true. But Shanahan had all of training camp, preseason and 7 games to evaluate DM's conditioning. If he felt like this he shoulda addressed it months ago or made a move BEFORE a game and let Rex start. Why even start DM if you have such little faith in his conditioning? You don't replace him in the last 2 minutes with a fumble happy mofo unless you just don't respect him and don't care who knows it. Again, if this is true it speaks more about Shanahan and his son's inability to assess players than about DM himself. |

Grossman is a guaranteed 6 for the OTHER team. |

...and then he brings in JaMarcus Russell, who couldn't beat Betty White in a wind sprint. WTF?????
Hey, as a Giants fan I'm loving all this disarray the 'Skins are in. One less team we have to worry about. |

McNabb SHOULD have been benched, to protect him from his offensive line. |

Thank you. I smell manure. . .
I've seen this mess befo', it's called the whisper campaign: when an boss / organization goes about covering their asses because they've made bad decisions on personal (in the case Mr. McNabb) and/or they need a scapegoat for why they've failed. In this case, I'll choose the latter reason. How long has Mr. McNabb been in the NFL? Now you tell us this year "people in the know" tell us Mr. McNabb has always had some trouble grasping the 2 mintue offense. Really? Oh, and his conditioning is suspect, the source to back this up is gasbag T.O. Please.
'Washington Redskins Organization', have no shame.

I think it's time for him to hang it up, but I'm sure some team will give him a look. Bears? Vikings? Cardinals? |

Shit, it's the truth. If the coach isn't satisfied with Donovan's play, ok, cool. But don't just throw him under the bus. Donovan got sacked like what, five or six times? That's crazy.
Shanahan should be happy the 'Skins are 4-4 at this point in the season. |

Shanahan can't come out and say his son sucks as an offensive coordinator..
If "5" was so horrible,you couldn't see it until the 8th game?....with 2minutes left?....gtfo
And you didn't have the balls to be a man and say"I benched him because I was mad he took a sack last possession"... Don't make up dumb shit about conditioning when he was your leading rusher...speaking of which...
With Alex Gibbs coaching the O-line..where's that zone blocking?..where anyone can get 1,000 yards behind it?
Mc Nabb is an ok qb and might do better in Minnesota next year...but I'm tired of retread coaches living off their past and are clearly past their prime.. Why Wade Philips,Norv Turner and Chan Gailey are coaching,I have no clue |
