hereafter..definitely some slow scenes but it was interesting...wasn't expecting 1/3rd the flick to haven't french subtitles...that little boy was creepy. dress him in all black and he looks like this guy that followed me around in high school..

i bought avatar today...gonna put on the special features...lucky blu-ray owners get 8 hours and i get only 3!! grr 45 minutes extra including the sex scene!!! oh yeaahhhsss tonk

i still haven't watched all the extras of LOTR special editions so sitting through 8 hrs of footage god bless those that have the temperment 2 do that. i still don't see the hoopla over blu ray, the discs cost more than dvd's!! so u might have saved ur money and time by not having all those features but i feel what ur saying tho

the hoopla over DVD to blu-ray is kind of like the hoopla over VHS to DVD. A lot people didn't want to pay more for DVD's either and said nothing was wrong with their VHS... but DVD's were better in quality, and the price came down, so they won over. Blu-ray players are already down low, and blu-rays cost the same as DVD's did when before blu-rays came out... don't they?

Finally acquiesced and watched it. The message was powerful, of course. But as a movie? I didn't think it was very good.

Too long. Weak plot, which sounds like heresy considering the subject, but seriously - there was too much that didn't click with me. Or maybe more should have been explained. Or maybe I'm just off.

Anyway, I guess I'm glad I saw it but I can totally give Jerry Seinfeld a pass for making out during it.

i rented that from the library..this area used to be all jewish. that dvd looked like they used it as a hockey puck...i had to watch parts online cause it skipped like crazy

4 a few years now i've noticed that the price of a dvd has gone up and comes with less, even in the packaging and blu ray's cost in the range of 26-32 bucks a pop

I would have liked it more if Totoro had some spoken lines, but then, as the kids correctly pointed out, he can't talk anyway so that would have been weird!

I saw this earlier today. It is one of the funniest films I have seen for years.

I did shed a tear near the end though. It remended me too much of the day of the London tube bombings, I guess I'll never get over that.

I wouldnt of thought this would be a subject for humour, but like I said I couldnt stop laughing.

The Little Girl Who Lives Donw the Lane

This came on AMC earlier this morning. I thought it was going to be one of those cheesy 70s horror movies ith a bad plot. It was actually pretty interesting. 4/5! (I just hated that I don't know what happened to that hot guy Mario at the end...) Good ol' Jodie Foster. It was suspenseful, a little sad, and totally creepy. I'd like a part two.

The sixth movie is my least favorite. It's the only one that I read the book before I saw the film, and I think that might be why. Seeing the movie then reading the book, I've always loved both. But reading the book then watching the movie was like, annoying with all the missing pieces that I noticed.

I'm so ready to see Deathly Hallows part 2 so that I can read book 7. biggrin

Very depressing at times. Just the tought of folk living that life. I was saying while we watched that it's the kind of movie you're glad to have seen but once is enough. This is how I feel about movies like Boys Don't Cry.

I went to see For Colored Girls. First Tyler perry movie and yes, i broke my promise to myself to not give him any money.

It was a hard movie to watch but I thought it was good. It was the first thing I have seen Janet Jackson in that I did not hate her in.

Kimberly Elise deserves an Oscar nomination that she probably won't get.

This DVD has been sitting on my shelf, unopened and still in shrink-wrap, for years. Don't know what it'll take to get me to finally watch it, but somehow I thought it was an important film to have. Guess I just need to be in the right mood for it, whatever mood that might be. I have several other unopened movies besides this one. Guess that's one reason why I stopped buying DVD's a few years ago. Too easy to snatch movies off the net whenever I'm certain there's a movie I want to see.

Inception

Watched this movie TWICE this weekend. This movie was so deep (...about 4 levels deep, lol), that I had to watch it a second time just to be certain of what was going on. Really good movie, though it should be no surprise that I've been having some pretty strange dreams since.

Can't think of many movies I'd give 5 out of 5 stars to, but this would be one of them.

Yes, that's why. I thought it tried too hard to confuse me with the rules. And I think I was supposed to get lost and be surprised at the end. biggrin

Yes, that's why. I thought it tried too hard to confuse me with the rules. And I think I was supposed to get lost and forget where they were at the end. biggrin

I understand, that's why I watched it twice. The first time I watched it, the visuals were amazing, and the plot technically made sense, in that; I understood what it was they were supposed to be doing, but there were so many different levels to keep up with, I wasn't sure if they met their objective, while staying true to the rules.

But when I played it and watched again (...and I NEVER watch a two and a half hour movie back to back, lol.) it was easier to follow, and in fact; all the parts fit together ingeniously. The plot and script were so tightly written, it just blew me away. It made complete sense to me on the second viewing, even the rules, and even the math in regards to the variation in timing between the levels. Very deep movie.

Sometimes I have to see a movie a few times before I 'get it', lol. "The Usual Suspects" was another one like that. I had to see that movie 3 or 4 times before it made sense to me, lol. I can be slow sometimes, lol.
