I'm a prescreener (I vote yes or no with a little review, but I do pass everything along to the higher ups) for a film festival right now, and I just saw an incredible feature film (admittedly, it is done by people already working professionally in hollywood). It's called "Norman".

But I also saw a great independent film... two of them.

I think "Norman" still qualifies as independent. It just had a huge budget and pro crew.

Norman = 5 stars

the last movie i see? Saw. It had its ups and downs. Seemed a bit juvenile and repetitive.

Justin is the best part of that movie. He's a fine actor indeed.

There is a scene in that movie that is hilarious for a very personal reason, but other than that...it sucked.

I love this movie to infinity. lol

Finally acquiesced and watched it. The message was powerful, of course. But as a movie? I didn't think it was very good.

Too long. Weak plot, which sounds like heresy considering the subject, but seriously - there was too much that didn't click with me. Or maybe more should have been explained. Or maybe I'm just off.

Anyway, I guess I'm glad I saw it but I can totally give Jerry Seinfeld a pass for making out during it.

For me, this movie clicked in a powerful way, I saw it 5 times in the theater. I think I see every technique and style of narrative filmmaking in there, from cinema vérité (pseudo documentary), to glamourous romance, to drama created just by editing contrasting subjects.

It has so many memorable parts that are intensely compelling to me! And then it breaks the fictional wall at the very end. And for me, it becomes almost too powerful.

Oh I hear you. The filmmaking was exquisite. I just didn't think the story was told all that well.

It was a bit hard to follow confuse and Woody Harrelson was plain out annoying, Downey Jr was quite good though.

I think he'd like it. No nudity, but there is language. Some dialogue may go over his head.

Potty mouth action we can deal with. I'm sure some of the dialogue will be lost on him...but the action scenes will make him very happy!

Thanks! smile

i still haven't watched all the extras of LOTR special editions so sitting through 8 hrs of footage god bless those that have the temperment 2 do that. i still don't see the hoopla over blu ray, the discs cost more than dvd's!! so u might have saved ur money and time by not having all those features but i feel what ur saying tho
