that film disappointed (and bored) the hell out of me. Not a bad film, but certainly not the excellent/4.5 stars movie the media said it was; and the performances are childish, at best (no pun intended), that blonde viking kid was just... disbelief

The Social Network. That was a flawless, wonderful movie. Best one I've seen all year without

i've actually been watching movies pretty much non stop since friday early afternoon.

don't know why. probably because i read through the other film thread on the org and

felt like re-watching some of my favorits again and to sit down to watch some films i'd

had on my 'to see' list for a while.

here's a few:

[img:$uid]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/larslimburg/home-29-10-2008-8-g.jpg[/img:$uid]

7/10

good film, i always watch everything with isabelle huppert since she's the best actress

ever imo. no matter what kind of shit she's in, she'll make it good. but she couldn't

save the end of this film which starts out just brilliantly but then derails about 20 mins

before the end. not in a bad way, just in a kind of weird way. too weird for indi kind of

weird. so yeah, that's weird, lol.

[img:$uid]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/larslimburg/flakes.jpg[/img:$uid]

8/10

my brother gave me a dvd copy of this film and i had it lying around the house for the

longest since i thought "a movie about a breakfast cereal bar?" but now that i've seen

it, it's actually a very good and clever little movie. funny and dramatic. one of the most

enjoyable movies i've seen in a long time.

[img:$uid]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/larslimburg/visit_youth_in_revolt.jpg[/img:$uid]

8.5/10

another 'sort of comedy'. michael cera usually picks good movies to be in and this one

is no exception. i've already seen it 3 times and i still enjoy it minute by minute. it's just

a great movie. many hilarious moments. my fav is when he's talking to a girl he likes

but she mentions her boyfriend. he then invents his own girlfriend on the spot, and her

description, by him, is just genius. superb stuff.

[img:$uid]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/larslimburg/Xavier-Samuel-The-Loved-ones.jpg[/img:$uid]

7/10

another one my brother gave me a copy of and it's a genre i don't particularly like that

much. the horror/thriller. i like thrillers but the gore kind of stuff, i usually pass on. but

he told me i should watch it because the girl in the lead is an awesome actress, for this

kind of film anyway. and he was right. man that chick is scary. in the pantheon of psycho

nutters from horror films she deserves a big bright spot all to herself. cool movie too,

interesting and bizarre. but i don't know THAT much about the genre, so what do i know.

[img:$uid]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/larslimburg/There20Will20Be20Blood.jpg[/img:$uid]

9.5/10

there's heaps of better films out there, no doubt. but for me personally, this is the best

film i've had the pleasure of coming across in the past, oh, 5 to 10 years. i just marvel

at it and sit on my couch watching it, being transported. seen it 4 times now and just

got the official dvd so i had to watch it again and enjoyed it even more now in crystal

clear quality. what.an.amazing.film. top 10 of all time kind of stuff. bravo smile

[img:$uid]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f331/larslimburg/Brick.jpg[/img:$uid]

8/10

and yet another one my brother recommended. kind of thriller, kind of high school flick,

kind of arthouse film, kind of non genre specific. but totally awesome. you kind of know

what's happening and where it's going but it doesn't matter, the film is just so freaking

good and the dialogue is so off center and cool that it had me stuck to the screen for the

entire length. when the end credits rolled all i could think was "i wanna see it again".

I like Jonah Hill, but I can't get past Russell Brand (...although I liked him in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"). Not too crazy about Diddy either. But if this movie is "Stupid Funny", I may need to check it out. I'm always down for a laugh.

i love jonah hill, but in this movie, not so much. he was good, but i felt that his role was just not

that good perhaps for him to play with.

on the other hand, i HATE HATE HATE russel brand, but during this movie i realised, about half

way through, that i wasn't annoyed or irritated by him, he was ok and kind of funny.

some good laughs. an ok comedy but nothing special.

i thought diddy had some funny lines, but as an actor he's like confused

had to laugh about the bit with pharell and the pink poloshirt tho falloff

Ottensen

Watching Will Smith portray a man trying to right the wrongs from one fatal night but accidentally falling in love while on the journey to redeem himself, the love scene he has with Rosario Dawson is so overwhelming...the fiancè and I were sobbing like crazy, and by the time it was over you never wanted to hold the one you love tighter than at the end of this movie.

3.5/ 5 stars

I can't give it 4 stars because it was too hard for me to suspend my disbelief during the climax scene with the jellyfish.
