Interactive article on 1913 Artic Expedition... What would you do?
http://www.msnbc.com/news/788279.asp Intro: A crew of 25 explorers sets sail from the harbor at Victoria on Canada’s west coast on June 17, 1913. Most of the crew, though accomplished scientists and sailors, had no experience in exploration. The expedition’s leader Vilhjalmur Stefansson, then a famous Arctic explorer, was in such a hurry to get underway he cut short his search for a more suitable ship. Soon they would face some life-threatening decisions. But what would you do in the same circumstances? Choose your path below to see how you’d fare and to learn what the crew did. (just thought this was a great article and fun to answer ?'s along the way). XNY. That was actually an interesting article.
I've read a lot about the Elizabethan explorers, Drake, Raleigh etc. and what they faced on those ships, the conditions etc. I still died in the interactive experience several times over! | |
