well, when i was 14...a group of freinds and i ( who were pretty punk rock at the time,if being punk rock is possible at age 14 ) all got dolled up and went to the high school football game. I believe i used about an entire can of the silver aqua-net hairspray to get all my hair to stand up...anyways... this fucking jock ( not naming any names here ) came up and quipped... "flammable??" I looked at him like "what???" next thing i know... he pulled out a big lighter... and fucking lit my hair on fire!!! Ended up having to cut all my hair off... I was pretty offended by that whole experience...

Nowadays, the comments that offend me most hint at the arrogant logic of the speaker...

I once had a friend, who was new to the city and very much a country mouse, tell me that the hospitable things I did were attempts to "impress him." He's now a former friend... and very much swallowed by fast city life -- drugs, etc.

Nobody is abused like a fat girl or a fem boy in school. Those are the two things that many teachers think a kid EARNS abuse for. I was the fat girl, and the list of things that I was called is looong, but what made it hard to deal with was not the names, it was the fact that it was constant. Every day, probably every hour.

The good news is, by the time I got to high school I had lost a bunch of weight and developed a very 'fuck you very much I hate you so why should I care what your ignorant ass thinks of me' attitude. That was great. Of course, my friends and I dressed like freaks, so we got heaps of abuse for that, and some of it was very physical. . .my friend was intentionally hit by a pickup truck, and I was pushed into puddles and had rocks thrown at me and stuff. But honestly, that was better than the 'fat' stuff.

The worst was/is when people say things like, "ewww, that's your girlfriend, ewww" or to my partner, "you're a lucky man, *snicker*". That hurts. We all want to be sexy. I can't help it if I don't look like JLo, you sorry fucks.
