Oooh that's kinda interesting how you assumed it was a guy, in fact it was a girl...

But in any case, it was rather upsetting, esp. because it was done in an academic setting with a TEACHER present.

I, of course, was the only Japanese in the classroom, and the teacher didn't even make a move to reprimand them.

I did get teased a lot for being Portuguese, because they considered me "white". In essence, I was scorned for not having a darker skin tone.

Gross! I swear to God. You know what's weird? I don't know if I've ever been teased (to my face) about my race by anyone was who was white. Kind of makes you think...

It seems, from reading this thread, the only good insult anyone can get on you is based on race or physical appearance. For instance, the kid last year calling me a "dirty Paki" ...mind you, I'm not from Pakistan, or the middle east, nor is any of my family. That kid was just dumb enough to believe it.

I haven't been truely offended by someone's words since about 7th grade when some kid commented on my flat chest. Something about being as flat as a board or summat. It made me quite angry, actually. And sad. But I have since gotten over that. biggrin

Edit: And I ain't dirty, neither. evil

It is very sad, because little things said (espeically when we are at a young age) do leave an imprint on us growing up sometimes for life, which is sad. Children are so candid and most of the time just say what they see.. But when you are old enough to know the difference between right and wrong that should be caught and corrected. I remember when i was younger someone (who was the same age as me) told me i was fat. I WAS 13. At that age, you know the difference and it left a mark on me growing up for a very long time. To this day, i would like to see that kid and say look at me now you balding piece of crap!

I hate this shit. When I was in the 8th grade, a guy that I was digging on told me the reason he didn't want to date me was because my breasts were too small. I was crushed.

Years later I am finally angry about it, but it's been a while and I was somewhat of a 'late' bloomer. I'd like him to see me now. He'd be kicking himself.

I was especially livid at first. I mean, you know the story behind the Pakistan thing. It's amazing if you say something enough, sometimes you yourself start to believe it, so it took me a moment to realize I wasn't really from Pakistan anyway...

..But then it just made me madder. Saying such things is just ignorant, and uncalled for. Silly people. biggrin

Then, this one time, this guy called IceNine called me fat. sad

I've been called "nigger", like almost every black man has, so that's nothing new.
I can sit here and write a full length book about many instances that I went through (and still continue to go through), and if I did that, some people might say i'm complaining or blaming the white man for stuff.

Today someone asked me if I was Jewish, and when I said yes, they said "Why do Jews have big noses?" and I said "Because air's free"(heard it before). Then I told her it was a racist joke. She laughed then asked me why Jews are known to be stingy and I sat down with her and told her it was a stereotype and wasn't true.

Perhaps you should've came to the young lady first, rather than talked to one of her friends. That doesn't present caringness, it presents nothing more than nosiness. If you want to know something, you should come to the source.

You may have thought you were being thoughtful, but it was quite the opposite. You were really quite rude, and I doubt anyone cursing you would be something you didn't deserve in the first place. wink

Enough of that, don't you think?

Edit: Not to mention, I think that entire statement is really quite irrelevant to this thread. I didn't call you anything except "nosy," while I remember cursing you quite a bit. Sometimes, the truth hurts. Though, I doubt any truth got through your thickhead.
