You bought that bag, too? biggrin

I've eaten most of the fat Tootsie Rolls, just about ALL of the vanilla midgies, and 2 boxes of Dots. It's baaaaaaad...... disbelief

I'm taking it to work to give out to the kids tomorrow (dress-up at school since Halloween's on Sunday). Otherwise, I won't survive. redface

Ohhhh! My daughter was a GOLD MINE last night at the parade. We picked the perfect spot. Ine between herds of kids but not close to them, and in a well lit area so she could be seen.

Holy shit, they trick or treat tonight?

I have no candy apart from a partial bag of lollipops. Luckily, Halloween is not a big deal here. This is my 4th Halloween in this house, have only had about 4 kids at the door the last 3 Halloweens combined.

I took loads of "English" candy over for Selden's birthday and put it in the goody bags for the kids. They had an early start on Halloween.

Hope you guys have fun trick or treating!!!!

It was 3 years in Sept but my 4th Halloween and Winter.

No costume, no trick or treating. He cannot eat any of the candy yet and mommy doesn't need it.

Maybe next year.

Why are they trick or treating tonight and not Saturday or Sunday?

I am so out of the loop.

I don't know if it's just a PA thing or what. But wait, you've lived in PA.....

Well the parades are usually the Tuesday or Wednesday the week of Halloween. Then trick or treat is always the Thursday the week of, because God Forbid they do it Friday, yanno don't wanna interfere with highschool football, and then I dunno, they never have it on the weekends. shrug

I never lived in PA, only married someone from PA. I was born and lived in Maryland/Delaware for 12 years. I don't remember doing that. I never went to a Halloween parade either.

Maybe it is something new or recent.

Perhaps it is to keep the older kids from being out and causing mischief.

Thats right. Yeah, I don't ever remember it being on weekends in PA, even when I was little, it was always a Thursday night. Then every town has a parade and the kids who aren't in the parade stand on the side of the street and get candy thrown at them and theres like hot dog vendors and what not. I'm glad it's not on the weekend. Too many drunk drivers out.

I know the one year they tried to do it on a saturday from like 4-6 cuz it was 'safer' in the daylight.

..........Gay.

I stopped buying candy. Each year the trick-or-treaters in my area got older and older. I mean I had fuckin ADULTS knocking on my door holding open a fuggin Safeway grocery bag. One bitch had the nerve to not even don a costume! Plus the heiffer must have weighed 350!

And you can't be gracious with some hoodrats. I would put the candy in a big bowl and when the kids came to the door I would just hold the bowl and tell them to pick out what they want. You can't do that with kids who've never had a damn thing or who haven't been taught manners. One little girl, cute as she could be, came to the door, and I held the bowl down at her level so she could choose her candy. Lil heifer proceded to grab a fistful of candy! I'm not talking that cheap penny candy either. I'm talking full size Snickers, Butterfinger, Mounds, Milky Way, Mr. Goodbar, the whole freakin line! I had to put her lil ass in check. And her triflin mama was standing right there. rolleyes
