I wouldn't say I'm that allergic to wine, but if I drink strong red wine too fast I may throw up sometimes. Sure, obviously you may get that from drinking just about any type of alcoholic beverages. But there's definitely a correlation between different types of wines in that regard for me.
The aged, oak barrel fermented stuff is the best, but that's what usually causes the negative side-effects too.

I have a high tolerance... nothing gets me TO' up... but some reds that have too much sulfur cause an allergic reaction. And I'm a Merlot girl

I get these reddish bloches in my mouth (usually from Italian wines- some that I really enjoy 
) and they dissappear the next day, followed by heavy wheezing. So yeah, I am staying away from wine lately during allergy season.
