I must say I do love Ian. He is terrific.. But the other day I queried on why certain threads needed moderation, locks, deletions etc. Thinking it over I am glad we have moderators or this place would become a free for all like ng's etc. They keep the place semi civilized. It is nice to come to a place where you dont have to worry about getting stabbed etc. so to speak. And for the most part they do a decent job and are human. Anyone don't like it or them..g.t.f.o.--get the fuck out. "Climb in my fur."

Thanks man, well said! Yeah I agree... I mean ideally the site wouldn't need mods at all and I could just get on with the main reason I come here every day - posting and chatting to you lot. However without moderation a forum of this size can very easily get ruined by a few internet bullies and attention seekers. We try to be as "hands-off" as we can - and for the most part it works, the Org effectively polices itself quite a lot and we get a lot of reports of problematic posts each day which is great. Although its not perfect, I personally believe it's better than the alternative (completely unmoderated). No doubt some will disagree of course, but those people probably haven't tried running a board of this magnitude themselves
