Recommned a PG-13 movie for Halloween

So my kids are having friends over the day before Halloween for a little "get together" (I'm not calling it a party).

We're trying to come up with "kid-friendly" movies that kids as young as eight years old can watch.

So far, we've picked;

"It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"

"Beetlejuice"

"The Corpse Bride"

We need some good suggestions!!!

I need some that are PG (the bracket below PG13)

we already say Monster House, Corpse Bride, Coraline and Nightmare before Christmas

we need ideas too.

I highly recommend Coraline btw, my kids said that one was really scary to them eek

Gremlins....though that's more of a Christmas choice for me! biggrin

Monster House is damn good for a kids movie.

Monster Squad is some classic eighties cheese if you can find a copy.

Damn straight! A party is a party...and I don't have money for a party right now. Better to set the bar LOW from the get-go!

"Childs Play", ..It aint a pg but it's only a 15 and will have the kids shittin their pants.

Or "clownhouse", It's about a bunch of maniacs who murder and steal the costumes of clowns at a local carnival, then proceed to terrorise a house full of kids. I think its only a 15. An early Sam Rockwell film. They will love it.

My son informed me that he is watching Blade Trinity tonight.

Um...no.

He can watch any of the 14 million Scooby Doo movies instead.

I think kids are not all that scared when they are young, but as they get a little older they get freaked because their imagination starts to wander. He's still young. But then again, I've never sheltered him from much. We just talk about everything he sees, hears and reads.

My niece was one of those kids that couldn't be scared with a movie (mind you, she's never seen the REALLY scary stuff).

But when she was about 8 she saw "Signs", and it scared the HELL out of her!

My kid is 10 now, and if there is a dark doorway or entrance to a cave in a film, he covers his eyes, his imagination is WAY more scary than anything he's ever seen!
