Yes. You just need to be able to grab the YouTube video, which will be an .flv file and then convert to a Video_TS(PC), or an Mpeg(Mac) for burning to DVD. There are free apps and cloud sites for both PC and Mac platforms to do this.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I've used these guys software products (above) often, but I've never burned a U-Tube video. The DVDvideosoft products I've used the learning curve is flat. lol

I haven't used the Youtube to DVD converter that TD3 provided the link for, but that looks like it may be the ideal solution, I must check it out.

If you want a bit more flexibility, i.e. the ability to download and convert practically any streaming media to DVD, then my slightly more complicated solution might be of interest. I wrote this some time ago, it's on my facebook page but I'm not sure it's visible to the public, so here we go:

How to convert youtube videos to DVD.

First of all you'll want to be using Firefox. You can get it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

Next you need Firefox DownloadHelper, you can get it here: https://addons.mozilla.or...ddon/3006/

I guess you could use any browser of your choice - assuming there are other downloader type programs for downloading from youtube. Some youtube clips have a download option, but many don't, I assume that's set by the uploader, can't remember right now, and in any event it's always good to have a decent downloader (like Firefox DownloadHelper) because you can use it to download practically any audio/video streaming media.

Once you've installed firefox and download helper go to your chosen youtube link (using firefox). You'll need to let the video start playing but you won't need to sit through it - as soon as it starts playing the downloadhelper icon (which is in the broswer bar at the top) will turn from grey to coloured and will start spinning.

Click on it and it will list all media available for download on the current page (youtube often has HD versions and other formats so you might see more than one video for download).

All downloads come to you in flv format. You may want to convert them to something like wmv or mpg to use with a video editor - probably - I would guess that more up to date video editors can take flv format but mine (Nero Vision Express) can't.

I used to use WinFF for conversion, you can get it here : http://winff.org/html_new/. It's a great little program, but then I found Super(c) which is better (more on that below).

Now you've got your youtube clips downloaded, start up WInFF and drag them to it. Select the desired Convert To (e.g. DVD, iPod, MP4, PSP, etc), Device Preset (for DVD these will be the various PAL/NTSC presets, widescreen/fullscreen etc), and Output Folder.

Then press the Convert button and away it goes. A DOS window will open and you'll be mesmerised looking at the all the messages scrolling by as your flv's are converted, frame by frame. You'll be prompted to press a key to close the DOS window when it has finished processing.

And that's it, job done - apart from burning your DVD of course (and on the basis that most people know how to burn a dvd I'm not going into detail on that). Plus of course you may want to convert your flv's to an interim format so you can amalgamate them into larger chunks - at least I've always had to do this due to there being a limitation on the number of chapters/vob files my DVD software allows me to make.

All this stuff is free by the way - not trialware or you-only-get-the-good-shit-if-you-buy-the-pro-version-ware - I wouldn't bother otherwise.

More about Super(C) :
Super(C) can convert practically any (as far as I can tell) media format to any other media format. It's free and it's brilliant (and in some ways offers too many options - plenty of scope for wasting days of your time trying different conversion formats).

You can get Super(C) by carefully following these instructions:
Getting to the download page is a bit of pain, but believe me it's worth it. Go to this page : http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Ignore all the AVS Video Converter rubbish and scroll down to the bottom of the page, where it says "Start Downloading SUPER © rightnow and discover this fully featured Multimedia Freeware." click on "Start Downloading SUPER ©".

On the page it links you to, scroll down a bit to where it says "SUPER © is a FREE Multimedia software to download and use" and click on "download and use".

Nearly there smile On the page it links to, scroll down to the bottom to where it says "Download SUPER © setup file from our dedicated server". Click on that link and you'll get the Super(C) setup exe.

I have no idea why such a brilliant piece of free software is hidden behind all that crap, but there you go. This is a great program with loads of conversion options (way more than WinFF).

One thing to note about Super(C) - when I have it installed I can't use VisionExpress for video editing - simply won't work.

Easily resolved by uninstalling Super(c) - if you let it, it quite handily puts an uninstall icon on your desktop. So that's what I do. Then when I've more stuff to convert I install it again.

Easy and not a problem - the install takes hardly any time - about as long as MS Word takes to open. Not sure if it would cause problems with other video editing software, but it's something to do with sharing (or perhaps not sharing) codecs, so it might do. Anyway, you know how to get around it if it does happen.

For beginners, I recommend trying WinFF first, then once you're comfortable using it (or it doesn't support the formats you require) then move on to Super(C).
