Tron and Tron Legacy

Unusual for Disney to bankroll a cult film (of their own), but at least they got Jeff Bridges back. I gotta admit Iam skeptical. I am very fond of the original and despite big flaws, the look and atmosphere of the original was amazing. They certainly can't do anything new, but I see Disney are expecting big things from this......

It looks like it's going to be amazing at least visually...and I am sooooo excited about Daft Punk doing the soundtrack and score.

Unusual choice. As a casual movie score buff, Iam intrigued as they have never scored a film before. Still, Toto surprised most movie score purists with their "Dune" soundtrack under similar circumstances, so Iam sure they will do well too. Not that movie scores have been worth getting recently. Not since "Lord of the rings" really in my opinion

Wendy Carlos' original score was great mind, so they know they got to deliver.

Actually, the choice makes perfect sense to me. It's a perfect collaboration in my opinion.

I must admit Iam speaking from the perspective of someone who knows little about the group (or duo?). They are huge fans of the original supposedly, so that helps I guess? Actually from the little I have heard so far, the score sounds pretty good. I commend the choice as its a gamble that seems to be paying off thus far....

I'm a huge fan of the original, it had eye opening special effects (for the time) and opened the gates for the cgi revolution that permeates through nearly all movies nowadays .

A groundbreaking movie and one that I still watch with alot of affection now.

Really looking forward to Legacy.

The good thing here is that whilst its probably gonna be marketed to teens/early 20's (I hope), most of them would be too young to remember the original and thats probably a good thing. They probably will not even realize that this is a sequel of sorts. Of course that the original movie did make a decent enough profit in the cinema's so it should at least have some interest to the fans of the original.

This movie has been followed by and marketed to every movie/entertainment site and publication since LONG before it was even in production. EVERYONE knows about it. And I just don't get why there is so much skepticism or worry about people remembering the first movie. This IS a sequel to a much loved 80's classic (yes, classic - it doesn't matter what it made at the box office, this movie embodies a very specific period in many peoples lives). Rememberance of the arcade game and toys alone will insure that this movie makes more on it's opening Friday than the original did during it's entire run. This movie is going to do HUGE money. Especially with the inflated 3D prices (and THIS is the movie everyone should complain is just a video game on screen - because it is! but nooo! people will still hate on Avatar lol ).

Daft Punk - Derezzed (both of these are "newish" I believe)

My only disappointment is that the bikes in the new movie dont move at 90 degree angles this time. I still get the giggles when I watch the old movie and bikes move that way. cool

It really conveys the sense that the characters are 'somewhere else and not of this world'

REALLY looking forward to watching the movie!
