But I did put up a birdhouse at my place, and we have had several families move in and have little babiy birds. I even saw one take its first flight (I think)

birds can be sort of high-maintenance, when kept as pets. you really have to like them.

personally, i think they shouldn't really be kept as pets. i know that's contradictory... since i have them here at home. but, i let them fly around all the time and try to spoil them with snacks.

still, they know they aren't supposed to be indoors, really

omg! that's what baby does when i try to put him in the cage at night. puffs up all his feathers, rocks back and forth and hisses at me.

birds really only want one thing from humans: food and awe. as long as that's clear, birds will not make a fuss

i do too! i used to volunteer at the raptor center, mucking out bird rooms. the owl rooms were really cool, we were supposed to save the 'pellets' they regurgitated. they were sold or used for research. cool birds.
