People just don't think so far ahead!

The only fears I had at Y2K were computer based. I was working for a major bank at the time and there was SERIOUS concerns about any number of systems no longer working. Even after several years of scrambling to get programs AND hardware changed out we worked 20 hour days for the week leading up to 12-31-99. Absolutely NOTHING went wrong. There was a ton of debate about how much that had to do with the work done leading up to the switch over to 00. But since that work was done, we'll never REALLY know.

Otherwise it's all a bunch of phooey. Time is a MAN MADE construct. The end of any calendar created by man has ABSOLUTELY NO MEANING. It's just part of our seemingly neverending need to fear "what's out there" or "what's next" that whips large portions of the world population into a frenzy around events like this one.
