I think the closer the film/tv show sticks to the book, the less margin of error there is.
One thing that really makes me want to break jaws is when screenwriters start to rewrite the comics. Its like buyin Taco Bell and then tryin to grind your own corn into tortillas for it once you get home.
What's the fuckin point? The work is done. Storyboards, done. Script, done. Costume design, done. Just cast it, find FX people and start shootin.
Like Sin City. Watchmen. KickAss & Spider-Man 1 (for the most part).
When studios start inventing canon, we get shit like emo Superman, Wanted and mouthless Deadpool.
As a nerd, that infuriates me.
We still don't know if the Tv show will feature the glorious level of violence/gore of the comic...Tv shows are usually much less violent than films... [Edited 10/21/10 10:55am] |

You're absolutely right. But even if they do stuff offscreen and the plot stays intact, I'll be satisfied. |

I don't know if I have the tolerance for the gruesome anymore (I'm getting old), but the project does looks interesting.
That pretty much sums it up for me too.

I made myself watch it. I did enjoy it -- and Andrew Lincoln is kind of hot -- but I don't see myself being a weekly viewer. WAY too stressful.
Question, though: What happened to the father and kid? I missed the reason Deputy Rick left them behind.

I think he went to go find one of the safe areas to see if he could locate his wife and son. The father and son decided to stay behind. I graduated bitches!!! 12-19-09 |

They stayed behind; they didn't want to risk trying to get to Atlanta. |

I only have marginal comic knowledge and that Deadpool shit annoyed me to no end. Way to complete kill the character.

His subtitle is "the merc with a mouth". What's next? A scaredy cat Daredevil? They already made Superman the Man of Foil... |

I enjoyed the premiere, I thought it was very well put together.
and I live for late night scenes with weirdos hanging around the house! "what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?" |
