Ravioli - mushroom for me, chicken for my daughter. Village salad - feta cheese, cucumber, tomato. I've been wanting rice crispy treats, so there. |

This week I made an amazing baked mac and cheese with cheddar and blue cheese, and homemade buttered bread crumb topping. Nobody in my house is a big blue cheese fan, so I thought it would be all for me.
It was amazing, and the kids not only ate it but literally licked the baking dish. I only used about 1/2 cup of blue cheese in the sauce to 2 1/2 cups mild shredded cheddar, but it added an incredible flavor. I also caramelized finely chopped onions (with minced garlic for the last 2 min) in the butter before making the roux. It's what you make it. |

A custard pie made with buttermilk, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, vanilla and nutmeg.
I didn't have any more foil pie pans, so I put my homemade crust in a square cake pan, pressed the crust up the sides and baked the buttermilk pie deep-dish style. Baked it, cooled it and topped it with blueberry pie filling - kind of like a fruit-topped cheesecake. It's what you make it. |
