I just finished making dough for wonton wrappers. I'll fill some of them with seasoned ground meat and veggies, and the rest with salmon and cream cheese. Deep fried because I don't feel like going through the process for my favorite method (steamed, then pan-fried). I have a bunch of leftover cooked white rice, so that'll turn into veggie fried rice.

Ooh, they came out so good! excited

I ate so many of the salmon-cream cheese ones my tummy hurts.

Hurts so good!

It's what you make it.

Tonight I'm making me and my man a curry. Panang curry paste, lite coconut milk, Bragg's Liquid Aminos (I use in place of soy sauce) and I'm throwing in what I've got in the house - seitan (wheat gluten), white sweet potatoes, carrots, onions and some dried cranberries. Served over basmati rice (cause I'm out of jasmine). It's totally a hodge podge of flavors and not a perfect recipe by any means, but it should be tasty.

I'm going out to eat tonight, so I have no idea.

Last night I made a steak pie and had potatoes, carrots and peas with it. It was yummy.

I honestly hadn't either till I picked some up at the farmer's market. They basically look lime this:

That's what I love about the farmer's market. All kinds of new possibilities, and lots of local and organic and such a variety of yummy stuff.

I love picking up new and interesting veggies and googling to figure out what to do with them. lol

I'm dealing with the last of what's left in the fridge,so...

Jamaican Jerked Chicken Breast Salad...on a Coconut Potato Pancake confuse

Tomorrow I'll be down to the wire before grocery shopping, so we'll be chowing down on pasta with Bolognese (tomato & meat) sauce. I have the weekend significant other free, so then I'm going to enjoy junk food with little to no cooking required. It's been ages since I've had a grilled cheese sandwich, for example. I'm dying to just throw back all the grilled cheese sandwiches I can into my belly, but that won't happen today lol

For lunch I just had a grilled portabella mushroom with tomato, buffalo mozzarella, yam chips and basil aioli on a whole wheat Kaiser roll w/mixed fruit on the side. It was super yummy and under $5 at my work cafeteria. I seriously love my work cafeteria.

For dinner I’m thinking of making braised tofu skins w/broccoli and carrots and onions. I have to pick up some veggies so it may be green beans instead or something else I find that looks yummy. The sauce will be simple - garlic, ginger, veggie stock, Bragg’s Liquid Aminos, rice vinegar and a bit of toasted sesame oil. If it seems like it needs a little something, maybe a bit of vegetarian hoisin thrown in. On basmati rice.

Do you guys sense a theme? lol I make a lot of stir fries. I can’t help it, they’re quick and easy and tasty and good for you.

You know, I asked my supervisor if she had ever heard of a white sweet potato. She said, "Sure! We grew them in our garden all the time!" Shoulda know. Ole gal's from the back woods of Virginia. biggrin

So I've learned something new today! Well, the white sweet potato looks just like the red one.

I love farmers' markets, but I don't go often because I end up buying so much stuff, some of it invariably goes to waste.

Do you use this sparingly? I remember making a stir-fry dish years ago that called for this. I read the recipe wrong and added too much. eek eek eek eek Jeezmoneez! The flavor is so strong. Now if I use it, I use just a tiny bit.

Tonight I am making cauliflower soup. I don't know the recipe yet, but I'll probably wing it a bit. Onion, a bit of butter, veggie stock, cauliflower, salt and pepper, milk and maybe some nutmeg. And/or fresh parsley.

And I'm going to make some simple drop biscuits w/rosemary in them to go with.

It's all rainy and cold today - the first really blustery day of the autumn here. I'm excited for soup and freshly baked bread product.
