I hate the show too and glad I'm not home to watch it. O'Reilly is an asshole and I completely disagree with what he said about the mosque.

Its hard to take Joy seriously when she's constantly looking for the punchline and the applause. One minute shes giving bunny ears and then the next she soooo offended she's walking off stage. rolleyes

yeah me too, he was calmly talking, even joking ("maybe you'll learn something") and they just could not handle his POV?

It's like he said, a lot of people don't want the Mosque. It's a valid question, even if I personally have no problem with it

They obviously had one foot out the door before he ever got there. They hated him long before this interview (and so do I, but they look like idiots who can't control their emotions)

Ain't nothin' wrong with Whoopi's shoes - I think they're Betsy Johnson, actually (so Genesia will say they're wrong lol ). It's the dang socks she's wearing WITH THEM that makes no kind of sense.

Bill O'Rielly is a divisive, sensationalist, hate spreading douche. It's very likely that not all of them wanted him on the show to begin with. It's my personal opinion that removing themselves from the rest of the segment is a pefectly acceptable form of protest. If nothing else it will bring a HUGE amount of attention to O'Reilly's ignorant, hate filled comments. And really, what good would staying out there have done? It's Bill O'Reilly, he would have just pushed his hateful agenda even further.

Once you start down the road of critqueing Whoopi's clothing choice you never come back. I'm still confused bout that overall dress thingy she wears occasionally.

I don't and I never have with any kind of regularity. But I've paid more attention to it since Whoopi joined.

yeah they should not have had him on at all, or they should have been professional enough to make him look like the idiot rather than themselves

I'm torn about them walking out, because I feel that walking away doesn't really finish the conversation.

Having said that, I am appalled that he refuses to acknowledge the fact that there were Muslim people who were killed at the WTC, and that it was an extremist group of Muslims who did the deed. According to his logic, in Oklahoma City, there should be no Catholic churches, as Timothy McVeigh was brought up Catholic.

I feel that anyone who feels the mosque near ground zero (let's be honest, it's not even at the site, it's blocks away) is ignorant. What better way to open the lines of communication than with a Muslim learning center? But no, people don't want to have the conversation because they feel that all Muslim's are terrorists.

It finished it for them. lol but I feel torn about it also.

I feel like both ladies are perfectly capable of holding their own and walking away often looks like you just couldn't hack it. It's not the image I would want to send.

Not to mention that shouting and walking off and all of this sort of thing is kind of taking talk show hosting to some sort of WWF twilight zone for me.

yeah it's just more fuel for his fire. He can easily say that they had no arguement and were just upset that he was right

if they had calmly stated their piece (and they are the hosts of the show, they should have control) they would have looked much better

They couldn't have calmly stated anything else because that's not what O'Reilly is about. He would not have allowed the conversation to continue in that manner and probably wouldn't have let them get a word in edgewise. By removing themselves from his presence they show their clear disaproval for his hate speech and his attempts to use the show to spread it. Again, personally, I think it works just fine as a form of protest. It's certainly got a lot of people talking about it, and that's what's most important.

Also, those two people probably have very little to do regarding running the show. That power still lies in the hands of Babs (who was on the show that day) and ABC. I'm fairly certain that Whoopi and Joy are not Bill O'Reilly supporters in their everyday lives.
