It's such a weird feeling! I have felt 2 earthquakes before, both in So. Cal in the early 1990's.

They only registered about 4.6 on the scale, but EEEEESH!!!! It felt like being on a rocking boat. VEEEEEEEEEEERY scary!!!

I'm firmly planted in denial

I just heard about this a few minutes ago. Very weird feeling isn't it? I live in NH and we don't get them very often but we had one just a couple of weeks ago...ours was only a 3.9 or something but it woke me from a dead sleep.

Was a very weird feeling. I first thought of the OKC bombing when it happened and thought...not again. The sound of it was something I never heard before. Was quite scary for sure.

yeah..it was the sound that woke me...best I can describe it, it sounded like "banging" but...once I was awake I was like...did I just hear banging....or did I hear banging and feel shaking? I thought I had dreamt it, so I went back to sleep. told my husband about it the next morning and he was like.."you're crazy" but later that after noon my mom told me she heard on the news that there was an earthquake. I was like A-HA! glad you're safe anyway smile
