They are separating after 11 years. A trial separation type thing.

He was on one of Howard Stern's channels on Friday and gave zero indication anything was up.

At one point, someone asked about Courteney being cool with an incident a few months back, where he was on Howard's show, looking at 'another woman's labia'. David answered as if they were still very much a happily married couple.

In other words, he was bullshitting.

David did not sound exactly sober to me this morning on the show. Going on and on and on, never getting to a point, acting a little weird... On the other hand, he was very respectful to Courtney and some of the things he said were very warm and heartfelt. I don't think he called in to share his business. He was just trying to clear up some of the misinformation that had gone out.

File this under shocking: Notoriously private pair Laura Dern and Ben Harper have split suddenly after five years of marriage.

The Grammy-winning musician reportedly filed for divorce from the Oscar-nominated actress Friday, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking joint custody of the couple's two young children.

While the impending divorce may seem to have come from left field, TMZ reports that the court petition claims Harper, 40, and Dern, 43, actually separated in January.

The onetime happy couple wed back in 2005, and have two young kids together, son Ellery, 9, and daughter Jaya, 5.

Dern's rep told E! News that she had no comment at this time

I think it's because the news broke...and stories were starting to fly that David was cheating...and he wanted it to be clear that he was NOT cheating..they've actually been seperated for a while.

Aren't they smokers? I'm getting a vague nagging feeling in the back of the melon telling me I remember reading/seeing them talk about it at some point in the past. Could be TOTALLY wrong, though. Regardless, David Arquette has a weird voice at the best of times. I'm sure it he was sad, or doing the sad dramatic thing over the phone, that he could sound quite "off".

Yeah. I have a hard time listening to him at times because he can be so manic. Today at least he was a little sedate. But then Russell Brand came in, and he's even worse when it comes to being hyper. A little bit of him goes a looooong way.

You know what kills me are the ones that decide enough is enough do it when they have kids or their kids are just being born. It's like people just don't put their mind above their heart and body. Like you have to really think could I be with someone and then have a baby and then stay married while still in the spotlight?
