I love Spirited Away so much that it might be unhealthy. Oh, and then there's this movie called Spirited Away, I LOVE that one! Also, they made this really cool Spirited Away film, it makes me quite happy. redface lol I really like Howl's, too, but the rest of them haven't seemed to create the same feeling in my gut as Spirited Away does. I don't think I've seen the most recent one. Ponyo?

Why do you speak from my soul? lol

I loved the hell out od Spirited Away and loved Howl's Moving Castle also. Actually that movie was the gateway to me watching all of these other movies. Ponyo was a cute one and so was Totoro. Princess Mononoke I enjoyed also. There are several other that I saw but cannot remember the names.

off topic: but Jay I've been wanting to watch 5 Centimeters Per Second so bad but can't bring myself to sit and read the subtitles because the animation is too pretty to take my eyes off of. I want to sit and watch the movie and actually enjoy it but alas it has not happened. pout

surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water
I ain't felt this way in years...

I haven't watched it either but that's because I read the synopsis and the ending is kinda sad neutral but I probably will one of these day

you just mentioned pretty animation and Macross Plus came to mind

the animation and the music blew my 12 year old mind back in 2000

I love this guy's work so much, it influences how I think about film and how to make one that's full of details and life.

If it hasn't been mentioned yet, The Cat Returns is a good one nod

I couldn't find an English trailer, but if you can find the Disney version, they do a good job dubbing it in English. It's worth it just for Tim Curry as the Cat King, IMO. The other voices are good too.

I find the music in them so nice, it tones down the pace so much, which in my opinion is refreshing. Hollywood overdoes music so much sigh

I can see Avatar in so many of these films! The toxic forest, the airships etc.

my favorite is howl's moving castle -- especially when she travels back to howl's childhood -- a masterpiece

second is whisper of the heart -- corny in some ways but the magic outshines that

spirited away is the first one i saw -- instant addiction

nausicaa is worth it just for that dreamy childhood scene

at first i wasn't wild about princess mononoke, but like it more now, especially the kodama, the elk she rides, and that main spirit with the cool face.

the only thing i dislike in the films is the "bad guys" -- ubaba, the monk, etc, but i guess that just shows the artists do a good job of illustrating their badness

not to get off subject, but that prince's quest by michael ocelot was also nice
