Coming Soon: Wonder Woman on TV

October 2010

Warner Bros. Television will produce a TV series featuring Wonder Woman, written and produced by veteran showrunner David E. Kelley, who’s produced such hits as Boston Legal, The Practice, and Ally McBeal, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The new series will be shopped to networks soon, according to the report.

Wonder Woman could be seen as a replacement for the longrunning Smallville, currently in its 10th and final season . Human Target is set to return for a second season.

Warners has not been able to get a Wonder Woman film off the ground to date. Joss Whedon was attached for a time and Warners never had a new director.

In the comics, Wonder Woman has a new costume this year —no word on the look for the TV Wonder Woman.

She has to look like she can whip ass - tall and muscular, but still feminine.

The problem with WW is she has no cool villains. Last time I even bothered with a WW comic is when she fought Doomsday.

I honestly just don't see this happening. Im a huge David E. Kelly fan, but he's not right for a WW project. I think its something that someone got a whiff of n up and sent it out n it went viral.

Circe's pretty cool. Like a hot purple haired girl version of Loki. Chaos goddess. Manhater, ostensibly eternal hot Sapphic warrior.

And someone very astutely suggested Monica Bellucci should play her.

And Marvel got jealous and made Loki into a hot girl.

He went from this

To this

and the influence of Circe in that shift is not lost on me.

How much do you want to bet that they will fuck it up? They fucked up "Charlie's Angels" when they remade it into a movie, they fucked up "The Bionic Woman" when they remade the TV series a few years ago, and they'll fuck up "Wonder Woman" too.

They'll do like they always do when they fuck something up. They try to make it too "realistic". They probably won't have her being able to do things like on the Lynda Carter series such as jumping way up in the air onto a tall building or throwing a man across the room in the air or holding onto the back of a car stopping it from driving away. They'll probably make her more "realistic" or "believable" and just have her extremely strong but not super human strong and they'll probably have her do all that damn Karate type fighting the same way they fucked up the remake of "Charlie's Angels". Those bitches weren't feminine at all. The original Angels didn't do all that kicking and shit. All they did was kick or hit a man just enough to get him off them until they could get their pistol out of their purse.

I hope they get Lynda Carter to play Hippolyta. That would be great, and there would be the possibility that she could spring into action on occasion.

As for villains, I like Cheetah, and I always liked Angle Man for some reason. And the evil scientist doctor guy was good. Every superhero has to fight an evil scientist.

Ooh, and who's the redheaded Amazon who's always badass and violent and wants to kill and Diana always has to fight her and hold her back? She could be a good villain.

That's a brilliant idea for a cameo. And I think Circe is the chick you talkin bout. Unless it's like Big Barda.

Also on the subject of villains, she doesn't have to only fight her own rogue's gallery. She's gone up against everybody at some point.

Even twisted Max Lord's fuckin head off and slit superman's throat in the same fight.

I love Dirty Diana.
