Nope. I initially thought they might be, so I checked out the color very carefully. They're just plain ol' multi-colored Christmas lights.
I gotta tell you, I can't get down with Halloween lights either tho. I think Halloween decorations are cool, but lights should be only for Xmas.
I agree. It's part of the holiday - the whole solstice thing. You know...the Germanic tribes putting lights in the trees and whatnot... We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

I miss seeing the south end lit up with the teeny pink lights for gay pride. I ADORED those lights on the summer nights.
I think trees that line a street lit with pink lights is fabulous. So very pretty. |

Sometimes early snowfall can kickstart the holiday spirit, but usually that is still curbed until after Halloween. |

Overall, I agree. Halloween lights should be candles/fire. I'm firmly planted in denial |

...inside of pumpkins!
We might be getting our first rain of the fall here this afternoon. Does that mean I should pull out the Christmas light? |

Christmas lights should be designed to melt in that weather. |

I have purple and orange halloween lights on, but Christmas? Just DUMB!
It won't be long before you can string up a set of permanent lights that you can't see in the day time, that have different programs built in, different colours for halloween and christmas etc.
It won't be long before the government stipulates that all new houses shall have them built in to their roofs, to prevent so many falling off the roof incidents each year. |

Look, I know how tempting it is to get them up while the weather's still warm, so you don't freeze your fingers off in November. But it's just too friggin' early.
The owners of another condo in my building have had theirs up for two weeks already - and they have them lit every night. It looks ridiculous.
Girl who you tellin'. We have some people up here in St. Joseph Mich. who don't even bother to take the lights down, they just plug in. My neighbor down the street keeps his Christmas decorations up and ON year around. I'd say in 3 weeks time, he should have a decorated Boston Pine on his porch. When I get a chance I'll post a pic. |

One of the things that I do not miss about the US. You do not see that kind of thing here in the UK.
UK: thank God for London though...
IIRC, in Europe the issue isn't "Christmas Creep," as Greg Easterbrook puts it, but the length of the holiday. Many parts of Europe keep Christmas lights up well into January if not later. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

It's going to look strange as hell on Halloween night when you see kids going up to that house trick or treating and there are Christmas lights up. It's just totally out of place.
it'll also be amusing Love God. Love Music. Love Life. |

OMG! That would be awesome! I mean, not with the lights up now. But maybe put them up a day or two before Halloween without turning them on. On Halloween, turn on all lights and wear a Santa Claus suit. Then every time you open the door yell "MERRRRRY CHRISTMAS! HO HO HO!". Bunch of kids be all like.... .....

I like the idea of a scary Santa, too, but I think playing it straight would be more fun. All the Christmas lights up outside, Christmas decorations out inside the house, some gentle Christmas music on the stereo - then open door in a full Santa suit, beard and all, with a jovial "Merrrrry Christmas! Ho ho ho ho!" I can just hear all the little kids walking away asking their parents questions about Santa Claus. |

If by that you mean I would enjoy the torture of their parents trying to not let them find out that Santa Claus is a consumer driven figment of advertisers imaginations, or even that they might find that out, sure! AbsoLUTEly! |
