You can get a portable CD player that reads data discs and play it through your tape deck. You can even power if off your car lighter (which I'm assuming you still have because you have a tape deck lol ).

I'm being facetious, my car also has a disc player as ZK pointed out. lol

I don't drive for long periods normally so one CD usually is good for an entire drive.

An iPod adapter for the odd road trip would come in handy though.

Oh. I thought you were serious. lol Yeah, if you actually use your iPod it would seem like a car adaptor would be a must. It would be for me, but I just can't be bothered to use an MP3 player. I'd just lose it or break it anyway. That's why I still by cheap ass sunglasses. lol

I have 5 or 6 different pairs, so if I sit on them or drop them or the kids colour in the lenses with sharpies ( pissed ) it doesn't matter so much whew

I once thought if I started getting expensive pairs that I would take better care of them, or pay more attention to where their passage to the alternate sunglasses universe was hiding. Pshh! I still lost or broke them within a couple months at most, usually more like my usual couple weeks.

I used to have a pair of $100 Ray-Bans, but after those broke I went back to $10 cheapies bought off the street in Greenwich Village. thumbs up!

Burning CDs - because to me they're simpler. Then again I'm kinda old fashioned in that respect.

So does mine. And it doesn't have a cd player either. Just a tape deck. And I'm not even joking.

I can't remember the last time I played a real cassette in it either. I actually do use one of these:

[img:$uid]http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSRUZB1om0eWDcxV6YBb0YrHsa-uotFB6AVpVx9skYlr0u7KNg&t=1&usg=__GQTyoyEjDq0tYn3gM9CMZF2RyZo=[/img:$uid]

to connect my mp3 player, which is a perfectly adequate solution as far as I'm concerned. I spend so little time in the car these days that it's not worth spending anything on a more modern solution. I prefer to spend my money on superior audio systems for the home.

Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

I'm not "slick", I try to stay current razz.

I always keep some type of entertainment gadget with me now. In the 90s, I kept 30 to 50 cds in my vehicle at all times (in the cases). In the 00s, I really downsized and started burning cds...then moved to mp3 players in the late 00s.

Now, I carry my phone and have about 300 songs in there. On my phone, I have internet where I have access to my entire music library via my own web server. If I want to hear a song on my home computer, I can download it directly to my phone.

So, I'm like my parents....I try to stay "modern" and up to date on technology. Convience and connectivity are everything!

I reckon sexton made that tape cover himself

which is a good idea, just print out any old pervy pic and cut it to 120mm x 120mm and voila, instant CD sleeve idea

For sure. Super low budget independently released CASSETTE. lol There style is even classified as "lo-fi" - like a garage band.

I made myself a data disc, but it put it in an order like

1

1

1

2

2

2

rather than grouping the albums together. confused

You have to have individual albums in their own folders and number the tracks 01, 02, 03, 04, etc. If you player is still reading them as groups of 01, 01, 01, 01, 02, 02, 02, etc, then number the first album 1-01, 1-02, 1-03, etc to the end of that album. Number the second album 2-01, 2-02, 2-03, third album 3-01, 3-02, 3-03 etc. But if the tracks are in corresponding album folders, numbered 01, 02, 03, 04 etc, they should read seperately. .... hope that makes sense. lol

Most of them read folders. It's more likely that you'll come across the occasional complete album that it will ignore because of some anomalous information contained in the ID3 tags. But folders should work.
