that's asking for a lot IMO. If we can get 5 decent ones, I think that's good. If we can get to the 7th without being blown out in any of these playoff games, I like our chances for the most part.

Robertson, Wood, and Joba can really shorten these games like Stanton, Nelson and Mendoza did in the late 90's. 5-6 innings from the starter, bullpen and then Mariano...it's a recipe that works. Not every night, but damn straight it will in 7 game series. nod

I don't trust Joba anymore--especially not in close games.

no way man, Joba is going to be A-OK. Joe just needs to put him in at the right times. Faith, young padawan, faith!!!!

Pretty good game so far. The announcers just jixed Pettitte with all that talk, though. Blam! Home run. lol

i stopped watching when it was 4-2

and damn it disturbs me 2 see Jose Contreras as the winner :smh:

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Or even the 11th. But that's more what I was expecting from this series, unfortunately.

That Braves-Giants series is gonna be fun to watch, I don't know who's coming out on top in that one.

If he was still with the Yankees, he would have definitely lost that game. Fans didn't like him at all.

is it me or does anyone else think that the manager for texas acts like it's the 7th game of the world series everytime? i mean damn his team is up 2-0 and he's using every pitcher on the roster in a 9 inning game geez!!

but i'm looking forward to this series going 5 games, it helps the yanks either way cause texas will have to use cliff lee again and the rays would probably use david price

well more than likely this will be a 2-1 series game now ..6-2 in the bottom on the 9th

I never would have guessed that he would have the best start of the three Yankees starters. Good for him.

why not? Phil is a serious stud. He won 18 games this year, and that was with a tired arm the second half. He's going to be a strong pitcher for the Yankees for a lot of years. There's a reason they didn't want to trade him, even for Johan Santana.

Oh yeah...home grown, haters. talk to the hand

To me, every pitcher is a bit of a question mark before making their very first ever postseason start, no matter how good they were during the regular season. Even Roy Halladay. razz

And the winning team won't use their #1 starter in game one of the ALCS against the Yanks. biggrin
